Excellent product, especially for the price! REMEMBER TO USE A UV SEALANT AFTERWARDS!
I purchased this product (3M 39010) along with the 3M 39008 headlight restoration kit when Amazon was having a sale on the two items. The 39010 Polish and Protector essentially came free with the purchase of the 3M 39008 kit. The 3M 39008 kit comes with various grades of sandpaper + polishing compound, and is designed to be used with a power drill for heavily oxidized headlights.I'm glad that I got the 39010 polish/protector for free, because I never even needed to use the 39008 kit. That's right, I ended up not needing to sand the headlights after all!To keep it short, I was impressed by the 39010 Polish/Protector. I have lightly to moderately oxidized headlights on my 10 year old Honda, and using the polish/protector was enough to restore the headlights to 90% of their brand-new clarity. Each headlight required about 15-20 minutes of buffing with a terry cloth towel and this polish/protector compound, but the results are clearly worth it. If you want to restore your headlights to a 100% factory-clear shine, then you'll most likely have to sand them down, starting with 400 grit, then going up to 3000 grit and finally a polishing compound. However, if you'd rather not go through the effort of doing that, and you're satisfied with achieving 90% of brand-new headlight clarity, then this polish/protector bottle is a very good alternative.Note: YOU MUST USE A UV SEALANT AFTER USING THIS PRODUCT OR ANY OTHER HEADLIGHT RESTORATION PRODUCT! Without a UV sealant, your headlights will start to yellow in as little as a few weeks if the car sits out in the sun. There are various products for sealing the headlights to provide UV protection, ranging from not so expensive (Blue Magic headlight sealer spray) to very expensive (Opti-Coat 2.0). The more expensive options tend to last years in between applications, so you will not have to apply as often. If you're into DIY, there's also the Helmsman spar urethane method (Google search it), which is somewhere in the middle in terms of price and lasts about a year or two if done correctly.

Amazing results
Finally a product that actually works! I have tried MANY products to clean the heavy yellow oxidation off these headlights. Nothing has been able to clean them back to almost new appreance until I found this. It is simple to use and works after 1-2 coats. I would strongly recommend using painters tape to mask off the light before starting. Make sure you headlight is clean then use a mixture of 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water, dip a clean rag in mixture and wipe onto light. Let dry. Apply lens polish as directed on bottle. This polish does NOT have a UV sealant so you must seal lights after you finish the polishing process. I wish I had taken a "before" pic but honestly I did not think I would get such an amazing result since I have tried so many other products (dyi and purchased) to no avail. For the sealant I purchased through Amazon Turtle Wax 50578 Ice Tru Color Sealant Wax. So far the lights have been clear for a few weeks. I am extremely happy with the results!

3m polish protector great buy and great product
the only thing wrong was the label of the picture of ordering was slightly different. I have used this product on both of my vehicles lenses and it works great. I can tell as soon as i rub the product on as it says to do, I tell a huge improvement. Its like putting wax on my lights and the water, salt, dirt or road scum just drips off. I am going to put another layer on my lights before this next snow storm.Only problem is, that I should of known and bought this product sooner. I recommend this 3m product to everyone..Thanks

Excellent Polish but Lacks UV and Weather Protection
I had previously had my lenses sanded (with progressively finer grits) by an auto mechanic that does good work. That method made my lenses look new, but I asked "Should a UV protectorant be used?" and he assured me that my lenses would look new for about four years. Not quite. In two months they started getting oxidized/weatherized again.Upon further reading I found lenses not only need a buffing agent but UV protection is a definite must. Now, my lenses were already pretty smooth from the sanding but needed additional buffing, and this product fit the bill. This polish, when used as directed, will do a great job polishing your lenses. Right after you finish they will, from a somewhat short distance, look brand new. After about a month or two, your lenses won't look brand new, but will (however) look like very gently/hardly worn lenses that are still in excellent shape. That is, NO ONE, would think to look at your lenses with the disdain reserved for a flip-flop shod foot displaying toenails with a very bad case of toe fungus. Your lenses will still look great after a few months.I did take one precaution to preserve my lenses further. I used "Diamondite Clear Plastic Headlight Liquid Armor". This innocuous liquid really helps protect your lenses from UV damage and is an extra buffer to oxidation/weatherization. This 3M polish doesn't offer that protection at all.Unlike sanding, this 3M 39010 polish doesn't remove any significant material. You can get a good polish, and I imagine you can keep your lenses looking good for a while, until you're ready to actually buy a new car -- whenever that may be. This is an excellent buy considering new lenses can be in the $180.00 range per lens.Don't forget a UV protector though. I gave this polish 5 stars since it doesn't claim to do any thing but polish -- no claim of weather or UV protection.I have a well-cared for 2002 Honda Civic Ex with original lenses that are now in great shape.

A poor polish and unsure what the protector is protecting.
This does NOT protect your lens against UV rays.....says so on the container. (What else would you care about protecting it from that a liquid could handle?) I used 3M Headlight Restoration Kit Heavy Duty with Drill-Activated Sanding to restore my headlights; after a few days I noticed there were still a couple areas I didn't do as well as others........This product DID NOT do anything for those areas.
