This was a first for me. I knew that I wanted and needed a decent size HDD and a router and it had to be wireless. This particular model comes with both the HDD and router installed. And it is wireless. Bingo! Amazon Prime but I got it a day early! This arrived very well packaged. I opened it up and set out all the components. I basically followed the youtube video mentioned in the Q&A area. Be aware that each camera has to be plugged into an AC source and the power cord supplied is 5 feet in length. Longer cords are available on Prime. I ended up buying two 6 and two 12 footers. The cords that are attached to the cameras can either be run thru the wall if you don't want to see the cord or down the side of the wall should it not matter. I screwed the antennas on and then determined where to mount the cameras. Once that was done, I attached the 5 foot power cords to the camera cords and plugged them into the nearest AC receptacles. I then went back and plugged in the NVR and instantly had four cameras on. Wow. Just like that. Now onto becoming familiar with the NVR functions. My biggest issue was formatting the disk on the HDD. I had previously scheduled a recording which was a no no as whenever I clicked on the format tab, it told me that the disk was being used. Once the program was unscheduled, formatting was accomplished. The instructions are actually pretty well written. But I have to tell you, having never installed one of these, I had questions. So I sent them off to Poe who is in after sales and he responded to each and every question plus sent me pdfs and screen prints. Very good customer service. Top drawer. My wife and I love this system. I kinda wish I had taken the time and gone to their website and ordered the 8 camera system so if you don't think 4 is enough for you, they have an 8. It was a great surprise that this system worked so well given the reduced cost. If your looking for a quality system for a reasonable price then this is it. After the purchase you will also find great customer service. Canavis is always available to assist in set up if needed. Great job guys!

I purchased the system on 08/08/2017. It has completely ceased to function. The screen just stays black. Changing cords and displays has no effect. Power cycling has no effect. The front panel power light is on but the other 2 do not even flicker. The network port lights are not working either. No response to email. Is there any warranty for this?I will point out that prior to it's failure the unit performed satisfactorily in almost every respect. The PVR has failed but presumably the cameras still work. Replacement PVR is $49.99 but 7 months is not what I would consider durable.UPDATE: I was contacted by seller and sent a replacement unit. New unit is installed and working. Swapping HDD and code-matching cameras was simple enough. Hopefully this one lasts longer than the first.

I just purchased the product. The instructions suck horribly. The first step is right click on something... I assume I need to hook it into a computer or something to that affect however it doesn't say anything like that. Also, the company phone number listed right there on the amazon purchase page, try calling it. It says the number is disconnected. I will try and search for videos or spend several hours trying to set this up. hopefully i can figure it out but so far I would recommend going with a different company

Great system but you need to work with it for a day to understand all the capabilities such as video save etc. There is a Danale phone and PC app.Got them both working but took some understanding. you will get it all in time and directions are ok but not straight forward. Now that I have figured out the apps looks to be a great system. My only bad is that only one phone can manipulate playback,, the other users on the account can only view live playback.

Works well, directions confusing.Update : after 1 1/2 years indoors, camera 1 color failed, camera 2 went blurry and is reading as motion being detected constantly.These cameras are in a low use climate controlled building and are not exposed to the weather.

Purchased this system and 4 months later the receiver burnt up hasn’t worked since. We still have the cameras so are now looking to find a receiver that will work with them. Do not recommend

It's not truly Wireless you have to manually hook up an ethernet cord to it, and then 10 is on it or a bay with 8in long so it's hard to talk up in a nice hidden spot to make it non noticeable it's a very awkward to place in the camera in position
