Do these have tabs to hold CD inserts in place, like the Cd cover?

Yes, these storage cases do have retaining tabs to hold the Cd covers in place. I print my own labels using the Microsoft Word application so that I can add pictures and special fonts for effect.

Can I insert a picture in front of the cover?

Yes. There are built-in clips to hold a picture.

I have had storage cases in the past that were difficult to remove the discs from. Are these Verbatim slim cases easy to remove the CDs and DVDs?

It's easy to remove the discs because there are spaces in the middle of the rims on the half of the case where the disc sits, one on the top and another one on the bottom. When you push down to loosen the disc you have spaces to put your fingers so you can grasp the disc by the edges and lift it out. It's a little hard to explain but I hope you get the picture!
