Altra Impulse 2's
These shoes have gotten mixed responses especially from those accustomed to the previous versions of the Altra Ones. And possibly, because I only tested previous versions, and that the shoes I was replacing were the Altra Impulses, did I score this shoe so highly. I put close to a thousand miles on my Altra Impulses, and only retired them after the upper began tearing in the forefoot area. The Altra Impulses are like thicker, roomier and firmer Altra Ones, having slightly more arch support, and are more durable, which is why I got them as I'm only satisified with my running shoes if I can put at least a thousand miles of running mileage on them injury free. The Altra One V3's are closer in size and weight to the impulses, but have more flex, rebound and cushion, and are larger and firmer than Altra One 1 and 2 (while still having more energy return so the added weight isn't noticeable). The outsole is slightly less durable than the Impulse's, but more durable the One's, while the upper is more durable, and roomier than both, particularly through the forefoot. While, at first the shoe feels as if it fits a bit large, as you continue to put mileage on them, the shoe fits and forms to the foot, while remaining comfortable, wide and stable, so the motto "Embrace the space" is very fitting, and unlike the previous versions of the shoe, the upper does not collapse or pinch at the toes. Another surprise feature of this shoe is that it performs wonderfully on and off the road despite having no lugs (and is better looking than the Impulses and the previous versions of the Altra Ones). In fact, an Altra sponsored athlete recently won first place in a mountainous, ultra marathon in them. My general impression is that the feedback from Altra athletes was that the previous Altra One's were too cushy as racing flats, and not durable enough as a general trainer shoe, and Altra possibly used the Escalantes, Solstices and Vanishes as their racing shoes, while morphed the Altra One V3 as training shoe, replacing the Impulse that has been entirely discontinued after the Impulse Flash and Impulse IQ. So, in conclusion, I am very pleased with these shoes. They are comfy, snappy, versatile, reliable, durable, affordable, and good-looking. I really feel this shoe has been under-appreciated.

The One for me - Light with zero drop and just enough cushioning
I found the Altra One V3 to be a relatively light shoe with just the right amount of cushioning (not too much). I like the fact that Altra makes zero-drop shoes, and this has helped me transition from being a heel striker to a mid-foot striker. The shoe fits the shape of my foot so well with enough room for my toes to splay, it felt really comfortable. I ordered the same size I usually wear for running shoes. I found it a bit more snug than I expected. I sometimes experience slight bruising to my toes on long runs (over 8 miles), but nothing major. Next time, I think I would stick with the same size because I like the way it fits with no slippage. One side of the shoe's tongue is stitched in place, which I initially found to be a quirky design. But I quickly got used to it.After 170 miles on this shoe, I have not seen any signs of wear and tear. I do some of my running on dirt roads and the shoe gets a lot of dust. I found it easy to wipe off the dust with a wet towel without getting the shoe all wet. This is definitely the One for me, especially given the price. After going through many running shoes over the years, this has been my favorite shoe.

Great wide trainer versus a light weight runner
I've been running Altras for 4 years now and love this brand and how they're evolving their shoe lines for various athletic applications. This being my second version of the Altra One I've owned with the previous one being the version 2.0 (infamous bowling shoe looking variant). I cannot speak to how much the v3 varies from the 2.5 but it is vastly different from the 2.0 which is designed to be a lighter sprint style running shoe for shorter distances. See Ginger Runner's review of this shoe for a more comprehensive and professional look at that show. The v3 seems to be a change to Altra's approach to a traditional trainer or crossfit "gym" shoe, which is what I have been looking for and this show delivers. What I like (so far):- Wide toe box (staple of Altra's). I have wider feet and have a hard time finding cross-fit style trainers that are wide across the entire platform- Lighter weight compared to other Altra's advertised as hybrid runners and "trainers"- Reinforced mesh on the upper that allows for more stability while lifting and cutting during sprint or agility style work outs- Enough cushion to be comfortable but allows the foot to feel and hug the ground. This is what you want during Olympic style lifts, plyo moves, etc.- Flat laces that are the right length when tied. Small thing that matters IMO.- Looks great! Big upgrade to the Bowling shoe look which was also cool, but these are better. I have the red and blue version. The red is advertisedas orange but is closer to a red in my opinion. What I don't like (so far):- Too much cushion around the ankle. A consistent complaint about Altra's you read and see in the reviews. This is unnecessary additional material that doesn't achieve much in terms of function and adds weight. This is pretty much the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars- Not advertised well as more of a trainer versus a sprint running show which his why I suspect folks are disappointed in what they're getting versus what they come to expect.

Scarpe veloci

Extraordinary shoes
Shoes are fantastic but withing a one run sole of the shoes is showing wear and tear. But almost I will suggest altra as one of the best brand and if you have over probated foot and if you have to protect your knees from getting injured please go for it.
