Wow I didn’t think Kase’s story would be as gripping and mind blowing as Valen’s however I have been proven wrong. The storyline is amazing and I didn’t expect the plot twists! That ending though! I can’t wait to see how this plays out.

Twists and lies told
It was a little slow to get into the story, however once the characters had began their story it quickly moved on and the storyline was exposed into a racie, sexy, bloodlust story, with the twists and lies told.

I waited a long time to read the next stage of this series
One, so that all three books would be out and I could read them in one sitting - I hate cliffhangers and having to wait for the next book, forgetting everything I’d read in the meantime. Two, it took me that long to allow the memory of Elise and Valen to fade a little so as to allow other characters to take centre stage. I loved their characters that much.Well the wait was worth it.Yes I found the first bit of the book slow to start with. There was too much going on to remember, what with the mesmers and the description of the east, and the details of the masquerade. But I plowed through it until I got to the stage where the story started to flow, which for me was around a quarter of the way into the book. Before that I found Malin a touch difficult to like - she was a little desperate, a little impetuous, a little arrogant. But if like me you’re finding the same, keep reading - she gets more likeable as the book continues and particularly after she’s joined the Kryv.If Valen was a villainous sort then Kase, the Nightrender, is something else. Funnily enough though I loved him from the start. There’s something about the one who’s willing to go to such lengths to keep his loved ones safe while hiding a heart of gold deep down that really gets to me.I loved how the author interwove the story of Hagen and Gunnar with Malin and the kingdom of the East. I loved how I could guess some bits but others left me completely wrong footed. I loved the characters and the very Viking-like descriptions and settings. I didn’t think I could love the Broken Kingdom series more, but so far this first book is living up to my expectations and I find that a hard thing to do.Bravo LJ Andrews. What a masterpiece. And I’m on straight to the next!

Love this series
Love the characters and the world that Andrews has created. Not quite spicy enough for me but that’s really my only criticism, apart from some shoddy proofreading!

Brilliant as always, highly recommend
Another fantastic installment in the broken kingdoms series. It was a little slower to start than the other books, but it was still brilliant! The cliff hanger at the end.... Give me the next book *now*, I must know more.I reccomend this whole series, not just this book. Its such a great series, full of a variety of lore, action, adventure, and amazing characters, with a great story than spans throughout the kingdoms.

fantasy
YA fantasy romance. Although this is listed as book 4 of a series it features different characters so can be read without reading the first 3 books however I can see the plots of both storylines merging at some point.Includes friends to lovers and a cliffhanger ending.

Another great read.
An explosive opener to the new part of the 'Broken Kingdoms' series. Set, this time, in the Eastern Kingdom it follows the stories of Malin Strom and Kase Erikson and the race of Alvers.Just as tightly written as the first three books of the series, I was gripped from the beginning. I think that Ms Andrews has another winner on her hands. I was fortunate enough to get hold of an advanced review copy of this book and can honestly say that I enjoyed every moment of it and heartily recommend it to anyone who likes intrigue set in a fantasy world (with some similarities to the Viking tales of old).

The Nightrender does NOT disappoint!!
I fell in love with Nightrender during the first trilogy and couldn't wait when I heard he was getting his own series! And this book does NOT disappoint!!!"Oh, the villainous lengths we all took. Truth be told, we were a little monstrous in our own ways."Malin is scrappy and loyal. Kase is brave and strong. And I'm so here for their romance!! This one is a little spicier than her last series but it's all handled so tastefully. I really appreciate that fine line she's found writing it! I love the dual POV we get! Malin has spent so long searching for Kase and he's spent so long running away. Both characters are well fleshed out and easy to root for. Side note - I love Raum and Ash and Hanna. The side characters are just as fun!! I adore them all!The writing is strong and the pacing is great! I couldn't put it down! I wanted to know what would happen next. The Masque is shrouded in mystery and intrigue! It completely sucked me in! I had to know!! There's plenty of twists and turns and a few at the end that took me by complete surprise!!! My jaw literally hit the floor! I love when books do that to you! This is technically book 4 in the series but the first 3 are kinda their own trilogy set in a country across the ocean. There are a few characters that make an appearance and that's always fun but if you read this one without those you would still be ok. You'd just miss some of the backstory and fun so I still recommend you read those first just because I loved them so much!!! This series is a Vikings Cinderella story and I love the Viking aspect. It's so much fun! The book takes you on a roller coaster of emotions and I enjoy stories that give you all the feels! The ending is mind blowing and I freakin can't wait for the next book!!! Lol, I'm already impatiently anticipating it!!! Thank you LJ for the ARC! I'm seriously stoked for this series!! Such a strong beginning!!!

Best book in the series so far
Loved the book especially Kase much more than Valen. It speaks of true childhood love that continues. What a tragic end.

Night of Masks and Knives

Omg
OMG OMG OMG this is fast becoming my fav series. Night of Masks and Knives is Malin and Kase's story. As we navigate the world of the Eastern Kingdom we learn more about the Alvers and the Kyrv. We also see into the past of Malin and Kase and how they became seperated and became who they are. LJ also shows us the lengths our newfound family will go for each other. I cannot wait to start the next book.

Keeps getting better!
I loved getting to know the Nightrender more. Happy to see he has more of a good side. Loved the twists and secrets that came out. I love that Gunnar was reunited with his father. Enjoyable, flawed side characters. The ending was rough! Excited to see what happens next, especially for Malin.
