Awesome for the Price!!
I bought this chain to attach to lumber tongs and the loader on my tractor. I had a bunch of downed trees I needed to move but I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on equipment to move them. Based on the price of this chain compared to similar specific chains I thought that I would be lucky if this did snap after the first couple of uses. I am glad to say that I was wrong and not only did this chain assist with moving the downed trees it has also helped me move a few decent size boulders and other heavy stones.

It's a very nice chain
I couldn't tell for sure from the item photo if the chain was coated or not. It has a gloss black coating over all links. Maybe enamel or powder-coat. The hooks are gold-color and seem good quality. One had a proof-load tag affixed. It seems like it will be a good chain given the rating. We'll see about rust. I got it because of the rating and it is the length that I need. It will be a utility chain that lives on my tractor.

Great chain.
Great for logging and pulling landscaping. Well constructed and packed. The chain has a nice coat of oil on it for corrosion resistance in shipping. The hooks are different sizes which is a plus. Large size fits on the vehicle and the smaller hook locks well back on the chain. Works perfectly. Would buy it again.

This will be covered in black grease, be warned
They mention it has a black coating to protect the chain from the elements. This will be the first thing you notice as the plastic the chain is wrapped in will be covered with it, as will your hands.Wear gloves and no clothes you wouldn't mind covered in oily grease. It's basically acts as an oil ink covering everything the chain touches.Solid chain, and if you're using it for moving logs, you'll probably be wearing gear you won't mind getting dirty anyway.

strong, good price
i tested chain under heavy load with tractor at a safe distance before adding to my work chains. nothing scarier than chain failing under a big load. once it passed full load from workmaster 40hp tractor in 4wd, it will be safe in normal use!

Not bad
Good chain for the money, use it for skidding logs. It is strong chain for 5/16, one of the hooks snapped in half right off.

Safety and Chains
Remember to inspect all chains before use and verify proper use for all chains as we should make safety a value. Also you want to be sure proper use and knowledge of all specs and proper use regarding critical task at hand when preforming task with chainsThe chain as per the described is a high quality chain and as a reminder there is not a safety latch on the slip hook however if needed you can have this chain speced out by the manufacturer if you choose to alter or replace the hooks but remember if you make changes to the chain may not meet specs and/or proper use.You would need to contact the manufacturer if altering the chain and or use for guidance. The manufacturer will want to see something equal to or better than OEM if substitutions are made especially in some form of industry and federal and/or a State reg...Note: If altering get written documentation from the manufacturer before use if you alter the chain it may not meet specs or safety requirements in the event of a failure...
