I need to make sure the screw that attached he bracket to the camera is tight and secure at all times. The screw can get loose if you're not handle the bracket and camera correctly, is not the same like attaching the camera to a tripode. You don't want to hit someone in the head like I almost I did when the bracket got loose form my camera.

My job is to photograph events and this has been really great for conferences and such and gets the light in such a better place than just swiveling it directly on my R5. But that long boomerang arm has a lot of leverage. I shoot with two camera bodies around my neck, and over time I was grabbing the body with the boomerang quickly and swinging it up to shoot with, or just adjusting the boomerang quickly from one position to another, and that was apparently weakening the integrity of the flash base. And while working, I quickly adjusted the boomerang and the flash actually broke in half irreparably. This is a great tool, but be careful with it.

Top quality product, easy to use, top quality gear.Major issue: the Amazon instruction video is 8 years old and uses a different plate than the one that ships form Amazon. So the instructions are ass backwards!The youtube videos are 12 years old!

As a photographer, I sometimes take photos with a flash attached to my camera, and other times, without the flash attached. It all depends on the event I’m photographing. As you can imagine, this could become very tedious at times, constantly removing and attaching the flash. As a result, I decided to invest in a flash bracket for my camera. I looked at several different manufactures, and decided to purchase the Boomerang Flash Bracket from ProMediaGear. I’ve purchased other products from ProMediaGear in the past, such as custom camera plates, and found the quality to be excellent. I placed the order and received my flash bracket in 2 days (free shipping). Perfect timing, since I’m scheduled to photograph an event over the weekend. I am very impressed with the flash bracket. The quality and craftsmanship is amazing. Its light-weight, easy to install and operate, and it allows me to quickly and efficiently switch between flash on and flash off. When installed, the bracket remains locked in one position on my camera, without twisting or swiveling, and it lets me use my wireless trigger without having to remove the flash from the bracket arm. I can also control other lights without removing the flash or bracket. This is exactly the type of flexibility I was looking for. As an added bonus, the camera plates I purchased from ProMediaGear are fully compatible with the bracket. The flash bracket looks very sleek and elegant, definitely a high-end product, and worth the money. I also like that it’s manufactured in the U.S.A. I highly recommend the bracket, for both professional and amateur photographers. Can’t wait to try it this weekend!

I gave this only 4 stars because It's more intrusive and expensive than the Custom Bracket RF-Pro. However, the design is sturdy and will definitely not malfunction down the road. The RF-Pro is more compact but was not designed to last as long as this one. I had to return my RF-PRO because the flash would slip down the rotating track to the portrait position by itself if you happen to turn your hand to the right while holding the camera. The RF-Pro I got seemed to be defective but I did not want to replace with another one. There is no strong locking of the flash on the RF-Pro bracket and it will move on it's own sometimes down the road when the rotating track "wears" out.On this BBX, the flash is held in place by the locking lever and won't move unless you squeeze, move and release the lever to lock it in the position you want. There is no worry of the rotating track to "wear" out over time.

The Bad: This bracket needs a thumb screw to mount a flash to the bracket. This arrived without a thumbscrew. To be clear- this item is supposed to come with this thumbscrew. You cannot use the product without it. Screws from other brackets and plates including Custom Brackets, RRS, and Sirui, are not long enough to fit. Incredibly disappointed with quality control. Got replacement part by mail several days later.The good: The quality of the product is unsurpassed.
