STAR WARS Movie Electronic Lightsabers, Darth Vader

I bought this one and one of another color for my 4 year grandson. As soon as I was able to pry these out of his 23 year old dad's hand and his 25 year uncle, we had a blast. Took them outside later that night and the guys played until everyone was exhausted. They are a $20 bucks, so what you get, with the various sounds, the start-up, the humming, the strike and the turning off, are rather realistic. It takes three (3) AA batteries, so make sure you have some of them...however, we have now used these for well over an hour of continuous duty (more than all the light saber scenes in all the Star Wars 6 films combined) and it is still working great.

DO NOT BUY IF YOU EXPECT SOUND OR LIGHT EFFECT!!! Was not the item which I ordered. The -Movie Electronic Light saber, Darth Vader- suppose to "make a humming sound when it ignites and battle-clash sounds as you spar with your enemies and ignite the 2.5 foot blade by pressing the button." Or it is not working! I could not find a battery compartment and think it is not meant to work with batteries. I am ok with it because I paid just 15$ and my son is happy with that item. BUT! The description of the item is misleading and incorrect!Amazon and "Closeout Masters LLC" are contacted! It looks like there are more than one customer which are not satisfied and have the same issues!

I bought this for my son for christmas. He broke his really cheap one he got at the circus and I wanted to get him something more durable. This looked like a pretty good deal for the price. I appears durable, but I will see after he gets ahold of it. Over all happy with the purchase so far.

This is a great toy for the young Star Wars fan in your family. Sturdy enough plastic construction - not perfect, but for the price I was not expecting perfection. The sounds are realistic enough, the lights are bright enough, and the sensitivity of the motion activated sounds are also calibrated well.My daughter loves her light saber - easy enough for a 30 month old to hold and turn on by themselves.I suggest this product and could easily see myself purchasing one or two more (different colors of course) as my family of Star Wars fans grows!

The last time we were in Disneyland we purchased two fairly expensive Star Wars lightsabers. They were good quality replicas that made sound effects when the blade hit something.We wanted to get another one for a birthday party and so I ordered this thinking it was similar. It was not.It was about half the size of the lightsabers we found in Disneyland and not as good of quality. I have seen $10 lightsabers in our local stores that were about the same as the one we purchased through Amazon. This one is not worth the price.

Arrived as expected in good condition needed to supply my own batteries6yr old grandson loved it he is tough on toys, so I will try to return with an update afterhe has had it awhile!

what can we say...it lights up and has sound effects but from day one once we extended it out all the way we haven't been able to get it to collapse all the way down again.

You've got to get two of these so you can bang them together for cool sounds. We purchased two last Christmas, a purple one and a red one. It's been 11 months and they are still a favorite toy among my 4 and 5 yr olds. I also like that the saber retracts into the base, not all the way but probably 1/3.
