Great Introduction for Barefoot Style Running Shoe - Unbeatable at this Price - Love 'em
After going deep learning and looking into barefoot style running, I ordered a bunch of barefoot type shoes, including this one. In short, this shoe is hands-down the best option for transitioning into barefoot-style running in my opinion. Size - I usually wear a size 10. For reference, the Altra Original shoe fit fits me perfectly at size 10, with ~1 cm above my big toe. For this shoe, I ordered both a 9 and a 10 to see. The Size 9 in this shoe leaves ~1cm above my big toe. In my opinion, this shoe runs a little long compared to others. Fit - This shoe almost has a slipper-like feel to it when you put it on with socks...I mean that in a good way. It immediately comfortable on the foot. I have a medium-high arch, and a medium-high instep girth/volume (height of the foot, distance from heel to top of the foot in front of the shin). Both are more pronounced in my right foot vs me left foot. The vertical volume of the shoe (often an important aspect of a shoe fit that annoyingly is excluded from almost every shoe specification or description out there), subjectively feels like a medium = perfection on my left foot, a little snug on my right foot. No real need for lacing up on my right shoe. I suspect will give a little with time. Sole / Ground Feel - feels like a perfect balance between enough ground-feel feedback and forgiveness. I could feel creeses in the sidewalk, but it not uncomfortable, with socks on. Heel - Heel had a little movement when moving into the toe-off of a stride. Not as tight of a hold on the outsides of the heel as an Altra, but not the best comparison as Altra is known for that secure-heel. Other Notes - Despite this shoe probably using super cheap materials, it feels pretty durable. The upper is stretchy but durable, a few mm thick I'd guess. I also bought a pair of vivo primo's which were 4x expensive. Those were almost 2 sizes too long by the way. Sweet shoes, more minimalis clearly. This is more of a "shoe". For just getting into barefoot style, I'd opt for this whitin one over the primo, and I did. Compared to Xero - much softer of a sole with this whitin shoe. Softere all around actually. This is more flexible, narrower middfit area than Xero. And I'll stop there cus I could keep going. Great shoe. Unbeatable as the price, truly.

Great simple shoes!
My brother got them. He's always wearing shoes with loose laces so they fit comfortably. He got these, since he saw me with mine he decided to try them. He tried and and said it was such a difference, they are comfortable. He laces them normal without over tightening. They are sock-like, stylish and affordable.

Not very durable but good budget barefoot shoes for walking.
These are a great first pair of barefoot shoes especially for walking. For running they don't work for me but milage may very. If you have the money then I would get something more durable like Vivobarefoot, Feelgrounds, Groundies, Be Lenka, etc. Durability - I wore these delivering pizzas for around 30 hours a week. The tread went flat in a few months. I kept wearing them and they lasted me about 11 months before the soles split and water got in. At some point the sole also started rolling over itself a bit which I felt slightly while walking. On the outside the treading all looks good but on the inside it's falling apart a bit. For $40 I can't really complain, but it is a little wasteful to have to replace your shoes once or twice a year. Comfort - if you like cushy shoes then these are a big adjustment. Once you get used to them, they are super comfy for walking; they really feel sort of barefoot. For running they don't really work for me because when I tighten down the laces, the tongue folds over and becomes a pressure point. They have thin, flexible, somewhat soft soles; I would not want to step on a nail in these but they provide great ground feel. The toe box is nice and wide so they don't squeeze my toes.

I've put miles on these...Highly recommend.
I have worn this shoe and its trail running counterpart extensively. I used this shoe exclusively as an everyday shoe and as a running shoe. I'm by no means a pro-runner, but I've done a lot of road running with them and I have found them amazing as a barefoot shoe. I even ran my 10 miler in them. You can feel the ground just enough and it forces you to adjust and correct your running technique. It feels snug, but at the same time has ample room for toe spread. I put a lot of wear on them, so I have to re-buy them every 2 years or so. I actually liked them better than my Altras which have been put to the side. I highly recommend.

Never going back to normal shoes - 360k steps later
After approximately 360k+ steps I can say I love these shoes and will never return to normal shoes. Sizing: I wear a size 9.5 in most standard shoes (this gave me about 3/4 of an inch of toe room. My go to’s prior were ON clouds and Adidas ultraboosts. I initially bought these in 9’s and felt that they were a tad too roomy so I downsized only to find they felt a little tight for comfort. Then I realized in the product listing the insole is intentionally removable so I removed it and found I had the perfect fit. Comfort: They are extremely comfortable you can feel how much they flex with your foot and how much more grip you get on the ground. The extra grip they give is great. The soles are thin so be prepared to feel the ground below your feet. The material seems pretty durable so far and very airy. They initially give a borderline uncomfortable amount of width for your feet but your feet quickly adapt. Quality: Not much to say. All the stitching is good. All glue seems to hold well. The rubber is flexible and shows no signs of tearing. The material itself seems good quality and is somewhat similar to what is used in ultraboosts but a little thicker and a little less elastic, but still just as breathable. Other notes: I got some elastic laces. I canning recommend this enough, the nature of the shoe makes it REALLY easy to slip on. Add some quality elastic laces and it just makes life so easy. Additionally, after wearing them for a weak I did have some muscle aches and pains but I managed to work through it and they dissipated after a week or so. Don’t push your body too hard initially. I’m in the work of physical therapy so I was able to manage my muscles a bit better than the average person likely would. After week two I suddenly regained the ability to spread my toes on command which I’ve never been able to do. I also have chronic back pain. I DO NOT recommend these if you have back pain BUT in my case they did help which I attribute to the fact that a flat shoe is less likely to put your low back into excess lordosis. Disclaimers : These are worth every penny but you should definitely transition slowly if you don’t often walk barefoot. Biomechanically speaking they place much greater stretch and strength demand on your calves so you should assess your calf strength. I’m also about 135lbs so they might wear slower for me than someone who weighs more.

Still trying to see if I can work with these
Upsate: so I went to PERU and I took these shoes and oh boy.... If you have flat feet and tend to do aa ton of walking, don't do it with these shoes guys, while it helps you back in small distances, it cause me planters fasciitis! I was quicky immobile and I could not do the things I wanted to do like visit machu pitchu because I was in so much pain and I had to buy another pair of shoes. The callous' on my feet and the planters really did me in. Just be aware! I LOVE THEM AND KEPT THEM! Guys I am 315lbs and I was so accustomed to having lots of padding in my shoes because of my spine issues but let me tell you that even though you can feel everything on the floor from these shoes, it gives a support that actually feels really good and helps minimize my pain. I might start off in pain but then the pain goes away versus with sketchers foam shoes I start off with minimal pain or none and end up in pain. They even make me walk more inverted I feel which is what I believe in aligns my spine and that's why I end up in more pain. 5 stars for sure! These shoes are amazing for walking and I have back problems. Yesterday I went to a museum with other shoes and my back was killing me. I came home and I had to walk my dog and I put these shoes on to test them out and it actually helped minimize my back pay and I was able to walk better. However, today I tested them out again and I have a pain in the back of my right foot because the shoe is digging into it now. I did notice yesterday that this is a wide shoe but somehow my foot is still being squeezed from in front around the ankle area of the tongue of the shoe and I thought I could live with this if I make some slits but the shoe the way that it's made. If you make slits you make slits in the whole shoe because there is no tongue. It's just one material or one piece for the whole shoe plus a second piece that makes for the shoelaces. So if I were to cut slits on the tongue then the whole shoe is compromised. Again, I'm very divided because these shoes feel great on the bottom of my feet walking and even help my posture my back pain. So I will let you know and give you an update on what I decide

Great shoe at reasonable price
This shoe is comfortable and is wearing well. It will squeak on wood or or tile floor if you don’t pick your feet up as you walk.

Good for balance problems
I was having balance issues which I attributed to my age but buying and walking in these shoes is beginning to help. I wore Sketchers with overpadded soles and heels and apparently the feet-wise people caution against this. I put away the sketchers and have been using "zero drop" shoes for two weeks and I already notice improvement. These Whitins have a wide toe box but a tight heel and flat sole. I plan to buy more of their shoes in the future. Stongly recommend to anyone having balance issues.

Impressive
I like the fact the shoes came to the perfect size, I used the size chart. The shoes are very flexible and comfortable. The large room for the toes is perfect. The sides of the shoes are made of, and look like, plastic but it's done in a stylish way. I would easily wear them at work. The soles are the perfect thickness. I have a good feel for the ground. They also have a really good grip on the floor. Let's see how fast they are going to last. Anyway, given the price, I wouldn't mind to buy them again in a year from now.
