So far I have only slept on it one night. I did wash it, followed the directions, and dried it on my extra low settings and checking it often. It was the pillow top that took the longest to dry. I would say then it does retain water. It is very comfortable to sleep on. It was the only mattress cover that came closest to the size of my mattress which is 72 Lg X 38 Wd X 9 1/2 deep.

I purchased a king-size waterproof mattress protector after a single waterproof pad was no longer the best solution. I tested this mattress protector by putting about 1/4 cup of water on it to see what happens. The top of the mattress protector soaked up the water but did not soak through. I used a hand towel to press against the protector to soak up the water I put on it, and it dried quickly. The protector fits my king mattress perfectly, and I am happy with this product.

Great product. Very light. Easy to install. Stays on the mattress and doesn't come off like my old one. Waterproof and easy to clean.

It definitely got put to the test when my young daughter was sick. Sparing the gruesome details, it kept my mattress clean, and it washed up perfectly with no stains.

The first waterproof cover I had bought made us sweat bad! I ordered this one and it’s great! Also actually waterproof as my son had an accident and our new memory foam topper wasn’t wet at all! Worth the buy
