Modern Hospitality: Simple Recipes with Southern Charm: A Cookbook

I was very excited when I heard this cookbook was available. I purchased it and have tried several of the recipes. I have to admit there are some that we liked, some that we will try again with some alterations and some we will not try again. Several of the ones we tried lacked flavor. Of course, we are getting older, and our tastebuds are probably not what they used to be. :-) I love this girl and what she represents. I love that the ingredients are ones that I could actually find in our grocery stories. The recipes appeals to ordinary folks. I think it was a good first effort for her and do plan to support her in the future. She just seems like such a sweetheart.

As a fan of Masterchef, I cheered Whitney on from the very beginning. I was thrilled when she won the competition, and I eagerly awaited the release of her cookbook. When I pre-ordered it, I had very high expectations. I have not been disappointed. I was very pleased to discover that Whitney's recipes can easily be prepared by the average home cook using items that are readily available at most grocery stores. So far I have made Bacon-Wrapped Stuffed Brussels Sprouts and Cauliflower "Mac `n' Cheese" for my family, and both were instant hits! The Cauliflower "Mac `n' Cheese" in particular is requested by my husband on a regular basis. I have marked at least a dozen more recipes in the book that I would like to prepare, and I anticipate many of them becoming family favorites. This book is definitely worth every penny I paid for it.

After watching Master Chef I had to get this for my wife! We cheered for Whitney the whole time and were super happy that she won. This has so great recipes in it!

Having watched (and loved) Whitney Miller on the first season of MasterChef, I just had to buy this book. It's beautifully done with quality paper and lovely photos. So far have made her Oven Fried Catfish (I substituted Tilapia and it worked just fine) and her Buttermilk Pan Fried Chicken which was, without a doubt, the best chicken to ever come out of MY kitchen. I am certainly no chef and consider myself to be an average cook, so I really appreciate her detailed explanations on how to make these dishes come out a winner. Even if you didn't watch the TV show, there is much to be gained from this 'cookbook'. Also purchased the "MasterChef" cook book and although I haven't attempted any of the dishes yet, there are many I look forward to making.

My daughter and I watched this show throughout the whole season. We are from Mississippi so we were a little predjudiced lol. We were so happy she won and couldnt wait for her cookbook. It didnt let us down, the pictures were very beautiful and the recipes were simple to make without all the weird stuff you have to buy from special stores. We have only cooked one recipe so far and it was delicious. I love that they are simple and there are soo many we intend to try. We met her once and she was as sweet and beautiful as she looked on TV. Good luck Whitney in your future.

All the ingredients are low fat. A true southern cookbook is all about the full flavors! I was really disappointed!

I got this for someone but, since then they have come back to me a few times and said how much they loved it, so I though I would pass on the message.They have used it a few times, the recipes are good I'm told, but also they loved it as just a book to read, there are great images used and they said it was the kind of cook book you just pick up to flick though with a cup of coffee in the morning!I'm can't say much more but I hope this helps, in short I would this this again, even thing I should get a copy now!

Bought this as a gift for my wife, She absolutely adores the southern touch of cooking. I hope Whitney makes another!

Great book, love it, use it alot, but some recipes could be a little better lol
