I saw these in a video of someone setting up a ceramic slip storage system and bought these with not much of a plan but these had everything I needed so I got these installed easily. Would recommend.

Buy them, if you are looking for this item, just buy it. They work well, and are way cheaper than any big box store. Yes, the thread tape is cheap and thin, just get some good thread tape. On the white piece i had to put a ton of thread tape on it to make a seal, but it does seal well. I put these on 2 - 65 gallon barrels and they work great. All plastic so no rust, the valves dont leak and they are super easy to install.

Im using these for adding a drain to a tote to make little cleaning sinks, and it works great. The quality is sufficient and has not leaked yet. I intend to use the other for a rain barrel, however, I'm unsure if the curve will cause a problem.

Great for a DIY of your water barrels

These were used for my rain barrels and are nice and sturdy, fit together with no leaks. Ordered a second time so my husband could add a small barrel to his work truck to use to wash up tools after concrete work. *Hack to install in Barrel if you can’t easily reach bottom. I used a section of string. About 1 1/2 times the height of the barrel and a wood clothes pin ( anything that you can fasten to string and fits through center of washer and seal easily and weights more than the string will work) once you cut your hole for the valve drop the weighted end of the string in, tape unweighted string end to side of barrel next to hole or hold on to. Tip barrel over so weight falls out with string, slide through center of washer/ seal and nut( make sure the washer is going to end up next to barrel) drop both down the string to the hole. Slide threaded stem over in weighted end of the string and into hole in barrel. Pull on weighted end of string while tilting tip of stem in barrel down. Washer and nut slide onto stem and can be screwed together to tighten. Pull string out through top of barrel and then add valve to exterior treading on stem…. Much better than my original plan of climbing in the barrel while someone else did the connection on the outside…. That really was not a fun way to do it! The kids tried to roll the barrel with me in it!

This product is perfect for what I needed. I attached it to a plastic crate, added a small length of irrigation pipe, made a hole near the end, filled the crate with water and it waters my plants right where it is needed. Set and forget, too easy.

Worked well for my project

Works great. Little hard to install on a 45 gallon barrell due to the reach, but totally worth it.

Good for rain barrel. Need 35 mm holesaw to get the tight fit. Good price for a set of two. No silicone required.
