The One Year Impact for Living Men's Devotional: Daily Coaching for a Life of Significance

I have been trying to find a good daily devotional for younger men for a while, but unfortunately I can’t recommend this book. I found the readings extremely difficult to connect to as I do not have kids. I tried this for a couple months in 2017, then stopped and tried again in 2018 but I found it useless again as I was unfortunately resenting the book every time I picked it up. While there are a few good devotions, an overwhelming majority of them are specifically about the authors’ kids and grandkids. Maybe fathers will enjoy this more, but I could not connect. A few good, sports related devotions, but again, mostly praising the children/grandchildren of this specific family, which makes it hard to connect being outside of the family.

My husband has commented (multiple times) how much he enjoys this devotional, and he frequently (several times each week) reads them to our family around the dinner table. We gave one to each of the fathers in our family for Father's Day, and they have all mentioned how much they are enjoying it as well.

Simply put, I don't appreciate this gentlemen's writing style. Maybe it's because he is a lawyer, but he uses run-on sentences way too much. I found it to be distracting from the actual content of the writing, which is just okay anyway. Just my opinion... I'm sure others out there will like the book.

Great daily devotional. Every message csn vevapplied to daily living. Easy format.

Nathan gives us a beautiful read everyday. It makes you feel good after the read. He is practical in his commentary.
