Having had a spate of break-ins of sheds on our allotment we hope this will deter the thieves. It's a good strong lock and easy to use. We also bought a shed alarm and notice about the alarm. Nothing valuable in the shed but like to keep unusual old tools there ready for when I need them.

I purchased two locks together with a length of 6mm galvanised steel chain to secure a five bar field gate. One was for the hinge side to prevent the gate being opened by lifting it off the hinges. The chain and the locks were a good match with the shackle just going through the chain. The locks are heavy and substantial and adequate for my purpose but I doubt if they are high security. In particular, I think the locking mechanism operates only on the pivot side of the shackle. Security on the open side depends on it being protected by the surrounding case. I do not think there is any locking on it. The locks and keys are not numbered, as far as I can see, so they need separate identification to ensure matching if there is more than one lock.

PLUS WHEN YOU RUN INTO DIFFUCLTY THE SELLER OFFERS NO ASSISTANCE.Where do I start? I ordered a pair of padlocks with a set of four keys. They arrived on time and I installed them both on an outside storage unit. However, two weeks later I was unable to remove one of the locks as it was stuck and how ever hard I tried the keys would not work. I tried WD40 but still no good. Both locks had rusted in just two weeks of outdoor use despite being advertised as waterproof and for outdoor use. I contacted the seller and they asked me to return the product. How can I do that when one of the padlocks is stuck on the unit. Two months later and they are still refusing to offer any solution and I am unable to get access to the storage units contents without destroying a £250 outdoor unit.

Looks and works cheap, and buy cheap as well. Don't expect more, not strong enough and a bit shaky.

You need to lock the padlock with the key, rather than snap shut. Apart from that, very good.

Ich habe solch ein Schloss schon mehrmals verwendet. Es ist robust allerdings bedingt Wetterfest. Bei einem Anhänger der immer draussen steht setzten sich leichte Rost Rundbügelschloss 70 mm drauf. Ist aber schon seit 5 Jahren immer noch funktionstüchtig.
