So many uses, So little time!
I ordered this for a college sculpture class I had taken. It arrived very well packaged. It was enclosed in a thick plastic bag. I know that may seem like a little thing, however, I have ordered numerous products that weren't packaged very well and because they were not sealed in a plastic bag they leaked all over the place. That was not the case here. As for the product, I had never used this type of product before and was surprised at how easy it was to work with. It did not take much effort to to combine the two products and condition the clay. It had a working time of approximately 45-60 minutes before it hardened too much to get more detail into it. Over all, I was very happy with this product and have found other uses for it, such as making jewelry and fixing miscellaneous things (such as a hook). There isn't any harsh chemical smells and it isn't harsh on the skin. Also, the lids seal tight so this product should last a very long time.

then the problem was the appearance of the carriage bolts in comparison with the adorable cart. I decided to use my 2 part ...
When I repurposed an old bar cart into a retro inspired ice cream cart for my daughter, I thought myself clever to get old tricycle wheels with metal spokes. However, this heightened that side of the cart by 2 inches since the wheels were now taller than the other side's legs. I added threaded inserts into the legs and 3 inch carriage bolts to obtain the necessary height. Of course, then the problem was the appearance of the carriage bolts in comparison with the adorable cart. I decided to use my 2 part resin clay to create ice cream cones on the legs. The result is awesome, and sturdy enough for use by a 6 year old who pulls the cart down our porch stairs and through the yard. It added strength and a sense of whimsy to the whole project. The lock nuts on the axles of the wheels also have scoops of ice cream sculpyed onto them...

Great Product
Product was easy to use. The included photo is what I used this product to make. First time sculpting in gloves but I managed. It does not paint well with acrylic paints. One should use a primer first. I had to do several coats to cover. I like the overall hardness the product produces and the textures one can create with it.

Excellent
Well, I’m back here to order another 5 pounds of this incredible material. Thankfully, it’s still available from the same seller. My original 5 pounds lasted me nine years for various household projects and fixes. And yes it does fix a lot of things from stripped out wood holes, trim, molding something, etc.

Excellent medium
First, you need to have some patience working with this material. It's not like Sculpey or other clays and if you go into a project thinking it is, you will be frustrated. Secondly, wear nitrile gloves. Yes, really. Latex and vinyl gloves supposedly break down and whilst you'll see many, many YouTube videos of people using this without gloves (and even licking their fingers to wet them), it's not a great idea. The more you use it, the more likely you'll get numbness, tingling and possibly more permanent nerve damage. You have to find the nitrile gloves that fit as tightly as possible because Magic Sculpt is a bit on the sticky side. If the gloves are loose, you'll have it sticking to the gloves and getting very little sculpting done. Those are truly the only cons. Gloves and sticky. The benefits are immense. Low odor, particularly compared to baking polymer clays like Sculpey or Fimo. No cooking. This stuff cures in a chemical reaction and will eventually even cure if submerged in water. (I tested this.) When it's cured? It's a frigging rock. I set one cured test-sculpture on a table and knocked it down to the tile floor. Not even a crack. Nothing broke off. If I'd done that with a polymer clay piece, it would have shattered. Best way to work with it is to create an armature first. Wood, wire, hard foams, whatever. Mix up the Magic Sculpt in a 1 to 1 ratio (resin and hardener). Mix small amounts - if you mix a bigger amount, the chemical reaction heats up a bit and you'll have less working time for more clay. Use silicon tools, just clean them with water as soon as you're done. You can also use water to smooth Magic Sculpt as you're working. You can sand it, drill it or carve it with knives after it's cured. Primer it with Rustoleum sandable primer before painting. I use acrylics to paint - works great. Sculpting tiny details is difficult because of the stickiness, so you might want to sculpt larger than you normally would. All in all, I'm never going back to polymer clay expect perhaps for small details.

Magic indeed
What an amazing sculpting product. It says you have about an hour after mixing to sculpt. I found that it is too wet or milky for the first 45 minutes after mixing. I let it sit mixed for that long, then start working it and have at least a couple hours to work it and all day to make fine adjustments. The next day it is solid as a rock and nearly indestructible. I was experimenting and rolled a ball and a cylinder. The next day I tried smashing the ball with a hammer and breaking the 1/4" d cylinder in half. Neither attempt was successful. Great stuff. Wear gloves, especially when mixing. It says it's non-toxic and you don't need gloves, but I think taking precautions with materials is wise.

Not difficult to use at all.
First time users: follow the directions, read FAQs of manufacturer's website, and look at a few instructional videos before starting. If you blend the 2 parts well (I do 2 minutes of blending or more depending on the size of my clay ball) you will have outstanding results. This is truly so strong. Far out does any other non-fired clay product!

Putty that's mighty and nigh invulnerable. Yeah, that's right.
This stuff is extremely useful. We use it to fix broken things or to mold new parts for various projects. It is epoxy based so it "dries" without changing shape. Once it is hardened you can sand or carve it with ease. You will love how nicely it carves! Is is also very strong. I have used it with an embedded 10 penny nail to connect the handle on a Shark steam cleaner. The break was right at the point of maximum stress but the repair is still holding up after months of use. If you are a crafter or just a fix-it person you need this stuff handy at all times!
