Standard Process Zinc Liver Chelate - Whole Food Digestion and Digestive Health, Liver Support and Skin Health with Beet Root and Zinc - 180 Tablets

I'm writing this review 6 years after I initially started taking Standard Process's zinc liver chelate. In high school, I suddenly developed horrible acne, and didn't know how to get rid of it. I went to a naturopathic doctor whose daughter had experienced similar issues with acne, which were cured by taking zinc. She gave me this zinc and had me take several times the amount of the daily recommended dosage on the bottle. Within a week my acne was gone - my mom and I were amazed! My acne didn't come back unless I stopped taking the zinc. After about a year or so, I was able to stop taking the zinc and still have great skin (strangers at work would come up to me and tell me how nice my skin was). I still like to take this zinc for overall skin health and immune system support, and think it's much more effective than other brands I've tried throughout the years (but maybe I'm biased). I will say that the tablets do have a weird flavor and smell. I could maybe describe it as a beef jerky or even dog food smell (gross, I know). But, these pills are literally only in your mouth for one or two seconds. I just hold my breath and swallow them with water. If the taste really bothers you, just swallow with some juice, and you should be fine!

Love this. Helps remove the dark circles and bags from my eyes once my liver is cleared out.

My Doc suggested using this supplement for hormonal issues - has worked wonders! Won't be without this from now on!

I'm sure this works for some, but it gave me stomach pain so I stopped taking.

Excellent product. Just be sure to take with food, as it can cause nausea.

My whole family refused to ever take these again. They taste absolutely horrible. I’ll probably manage to choke them down by just swallowing like a pill. We will be looking for another brand.
