Excellent Toy Drone
This is our third AirHogs brand drone. The item arrived on time, in excellent new condition and packaging as advertised. The first drone we bought was a DR1 micro race drone. We paid $20 and it lasted about 2 years. My son is 9 and he can be tough on toys. We then bought a 2-in-1 Hyper Drift drone. Again, very low price and held up well. It is still working after about a year. We kept buying Air Hogs because they were easy to use, and good quality for the low price. They can take a relative beating by an inexperienced drone pilot. This new DR1 FPV is great. It is also easy to use and is really just a larger size of the DR1 with a camera added. To use the VR headset, you must have a phone that fits in the headset and download the app. Our Samsung Galaxy S8+ was too big but a smaller Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro fit well. The app did not work on the S8, not sure why. It downloaded but could not connect to the drone wifi per easy instructions. The J3 worked perfectly the first try. The video from the drone is good for a toy. My son loves the drone. All of the AirHogs recharge by USB. Their battery life is maybe 10 minutes of constant use and they recharge quickly. My guess is this is not very long by drone standards.

A good toy drone with great goggles (to hold your smart phone).
4 stars because it works well for a $39 toy drone; 1 star off because the enclosed manual didn't match the charger that came in the kit and a couple of other minor things. This is a toy, not even a hobby drone, keep that in mind and you won't be disappointed. For a toy, it has plenty of power and the controls are responsive, maybe even a little too responsive for first time drone pilots. "Beginner Mode" seemed to have little effect on taming the responsiveness. Also, my drone drifts; out of the box it pulled hard to the right and less, but still bad to the rear. it took me a full battery to get the drone to hover with just a slight drift. On the plus side, the drone and transmitter connect immediately, as in turn on the drone, turn on the transmitter and they are connected! My Spark takes a minimum of 10 seconds.Haven't used the goggles to fly yet, but set them up and have to admit that I was impressed with their quality and fit. All 3 straps are adjustable and there is enough room inside the goggles for my reading glasses. The cheap LG rebel phone that I am using with the goggles fits well and stays in place. The App is glitchy and has shut down 3 times when I was in the process of setting the drone up. As mentioned by others, the video feed is not the greatest quality, but I think it will be OK. I noticed some lag in the feed when I wore the goggles while holding the drone and moving it around to test things out.My problem with the charger is that the enclosed manual says that the charger light will blink when it is charging and go solid when the battery is fully charged, but mine is fully on when charging and goes out when the battery is fully charged so I assumed that because I had a solid light the battery was full and as it never blinked, even after running the battery out, I thought the battery or charger were defective. I found the manual on line and it is where I found that the charger was on solid when charging and off when the battery was full.

Well worth every penny!!!!!
As a $25 - $40 beginner drone, FPV with goggles, one button take off and land, beginner and advanced modes, height lock, all of which by the way work as advertised. It does not advertise as having a headless function that I saw, but it's got a very steady orientation. How in the world is the average rating only 3 stars, what an absolute same, a real disservice. Yes the biggest disappointment about this drone is the inability to change the battery for additional flight time. Either that was a really bad oversight or it was the only way to engineer this incredibly fun drone. I would tend to believe the latter. This thing is fun, fun, fun, fun, fun. A lot of complaints about durability, I guess I have not had a big enough crash yet to break it. I have other pocket drones, well know manufactures, and yes they are very sturdy after repeated crashes, but they are in no way a steady and as easy to operate as the Air Hogs DR1 FPV Race Drone, not even close. I want to purchase another but would like to wait for the next iteration.Spin Master, please for your next iteration of this bird, please find a way to allow for battery change, and add an official headless function, that would push the DR1 in rare territory !!!May kids and I thank you very much for this bird and all the fun we are having.

Broke quick
I really liked the idea of this drone, a nice racing drone for youth but I was dissapointed. I watched a lot of videos and reviews about this product before I purchased it and they were all very positive. The biggest knock I saw was that you cannot buy extra batteries for it because the battery cannot be removed. My problem came after my 10 year old daughters maiden voyage. She was flying around the house and hit the wall at what I thought was not a bad impact and the frame broke right next to the motor. It does not appear that any of the parts are replaceable other than the propellers. The goggles work well however. I use them for other drones now

Well it flew well for 15 min then I landed ...
Well it flew well for 15 min then I landed it and the motor housing broke. I've repaired it and contacted customer service only to find out my 60 dollar toy is a paper weight. Do not buy unless you're experienced with drones or have a cash for trash. Other then that it flew phenomenally.
