Q: how does the grabbing hand rotate 90 degrees?

Grasp the pincher hand and pull it straight out about 1/2", then rotate in relation to the main handle. If it isn't turntable pull the pincher out a little further. Very useful in this position.

Q: Do you get one or two like you see on tv?

Buyer beware! I only got one for paying almost $24.

Q: does the folding lock actually lock in place when you unfold it to extend out?

Well sort of, if the turquoise button is free to click into place it will hold the shaft straight with no weight on the claw. This point is weak however, and cannot lift even slightly heavy objects. If you watch the video, the user places one hand below the join to support the bottom portion when lifting something like the weight of a can. I've even thought about duct taping the hinge in the open position to make it more robust, which would render it un-foldable without hassle.

Q: Does this bend at all?

It folds in half, but I don't think it bends. I've only used it on some light things.
