I love plating my meal in a line instead of always on round plates or the middle of a bowl. I got rid of my old round plates entirely. I only want to use these. It has a small lip that looks artful and keeps things from falling off like stew. It being a matt finish also helps. Plates everything so well. A twisted pile of fettucini, a handful of shrimp scampi, a tossed ceasar salad lined up seperated one two three. Its so beatutiful. A hamburger and fries, steak, fish, sardines and crackers, a small porcelein cup of espresso a small glass of OJ nuts and sliced orange all look like fine dining. Feels special. Colors are vibrant against dark flat black. Sushi is organized and visually pops. I have a set of cutlary that is long thin handled flat black that look so nice on these plates. The silver does as well. The plates are solid and a little heavy. I don't think they'll chip. Easy to eat on the couch or breakfast in bed bundled up in a blanket on a cold snowy day, perfect on a table. The only negative is they barely fit in my microwave and not at all in my countertop oven. I work around it. Holds heat and cold well so chilling or heating with tap water and drying is nice. They're a pleasure to use. I can't wait to have a friend over for a meal.

These are excellent accompaniments for side dishes or specific food types. They add a delightful decorative touch.
