Easy to use, great sound and excellent value
Bought this to replace my previous sunrise clock which gave up the ghost, and this is an improvement in almost every way.Setting it up took probably a minute in total, including setting the time and setting both alarms - the buttons are all intuitively labelled and it even has separate buttons for setting alarm 1 and alarm 2 along with separate toggle switches on the back to tell the clock which days those alarms should apply to (weekends/weekdays/both - this is perfect for me, but admittedly if you don't work regular hours, Monday to Friday, this could be a little bit of an annoyance).Physical controls instead of touchscreen means you can grab it to check the time in the middle of the night without accidentally setting things off, and the snooze is activated by tapping a large knob on the top, which is easy to find by touch when you just want to stay cocooned for a while longer. The settings for brightness and how long the "sunrise" lasts are nicely granular - my previous clock had a noticeable "jump" between brightness levels, but this has 20 steps so it brightens more gradually, and lets you choose how long before the alarm sounds it starts the sunrise in 10 minute increments. At its brightest I'd estimate it gets to around 400(ish) lumens, or pretty near an old 40W incadescent bulb - about standard for these sorts of clocks. It should be noted that there's a price to pay for this brightness, which is that since the whole display illuminates, it does wash out the time display significantly. The product images are rather deceptive here, suggesting a transparent LCD being used (blocking some of the light), but in fact it uses a 7-segment red LED display (adding to the light). It's still - just about - legible at full brightness, but you might have to peer intently to read it.The sound quality is honestly fantastic - the FM radio is very clear, even at the low and high ends, and the samples used for the "wake up" noises sound very natural - no "tinnyness" at all. In fact, the sound reproduction is so good that it almost seems a shame that it doesn't have Bluetooth functionality or an aux in - I would be very happy using thos as my main speaker. The base has a rubberised finish so the clock stays where it's put and doesn't slide around on the bedside cabinet.Another nice feature is that there's a USB port in the back for powering/charging other devices - a fairly wimpy 1A (since, as other reviewers have mentioned, you do have to provide your own USB power supply this is inevitable without it complicating matters by requiring a high powered supply), but still enough to charge your phone or smartwatch overnight.Pros: Very easy to set up, bright, ridiculously good sound quality, built in USB, excellent controls, very cheap (at the time of review this was a little under £20 - well worth it, even if just for the radio).Cons: time can be harder to read when the lamp's at full brightness; you must supply your own USB adapter, a couple of "premium" features that would have been nice absent (Bluetooth, temperature display).E: My previous version of this review stated that the backup battery was not included - this was my incorrect assumption. I finally got round to opening up the compartment to insert the backup CR2032 cell today, and discovered there was already a working battery present!

BEST ALARM EVER!!!
The media could not be loaded. I have always struggled to wake up in the morning without sunlight. Millions of alarm clocks don't wake me up. Only the light seems to wake me up. The alarm goes very well in winter as the days are incredibly short. It has so many features and the price was unbelievable. It wakes me up in the morning without getting on my nerves. Because some alarms are very annoying. It took 3-5 minutes to fully set the clock. There are many wake up options. It also has gradual illumination at night. It has two alarms. It has multi-colored lights and a USB charging port. A compartment with batteries on the back of the watch and under the watch for charging external devices. Speakers sound good and there is fm radio. The functions and multi-colour possibilities are great. There's so much more to this alarm clock. It's also nice to have sounds that I can turn on for my baby.

Doesn't come with a plug
I bought this as it's similar to the last one I had. Unfortunately the button on the top to adjust the time, didn't work. It's also disappointing that it came without a plug despite the packaging having a space cut out for it.

Cheap, teetering on nasty
Hands up. I'm the one who bought it. My 10 year old Philips Wake Up Light finally gave up the ghost after a power cut blew its circuits. Of course, prices have went up since then and they don't even make my model any more. So, I thought, £80 for a sort of updated model or give this cheapo version a try. To be honest, if it wasn't for the huge price difference this would have been a 2 star review. It's fiddly to work, it's not particularly aesthetically well designed but the clock works and the alarm works. So it'll do until my morning depression sparks an eighty pound splurge.

Nifty little clock, but requires a permanent power supply.
I purchased this for my motor home, thinking it would work independently of a power source, it doesn't but it does have a small battery to maintain the correct time (no display) when not connected. I got around this by connecting it up to a power bank for charging mobile phones, switched to permanently on mode. Other than that it looks nice and has 3 brightness settings with auto mode.

Great clock
Great clock, accurate, bright and easy to read. But, only downside, is that the clock does not update or unable to update when the clocks change.
