12,500 Live Hypoaspis Miles (Predatory Mites) For Insects - Guaranteed Live Delivery!

Hello! So I was skeptical on this order as the reviews but noticed a lot of them were older reviews so I gave it a shot. I have an iguana with an absolute infestation of reptile mites they are red little mites that just eat him alive I’ve cleaned his cage with full bleach and went the whole 9 yards but nothing worked. I also have a sulcata tortoise that’s indoors and in a separate area but I noticed he doesn’t have repti mites but the wheat little cream mites on his poop so I decided to get this product and upon arrival it looked like nothing was in the dirt I honestly didn’t think there was anything in the dirt but I just decided to throw it on my iguanas bed and floor and my tortoises freshly cleaned tank and let me tell you next morning I go to look at my iguana and I see the other mites and not the bad ones the predators!! I see them on my iguana and I see them actively hunting on him since he was so infested. I even saw one physically eating one of the red mites on him and it was just great to watch they are very active! As for my tortoise I don’t think I see any yet but I also did clean his cage putting new dirt and new everything before putting them in just so that if there was any leftover wheat mites it would be easier to get rid of as my tortoises habitat didn’t have any horrible issue like my iguana did but anyways just get it and if you don’t see them still get it because it genuinely does have them in there and I saw it working on my iguanas scales I’ll keep you updated!! In the video is first showing the red bad mite then you see the brown bigger ones working around his body moving much quicker they seem healthy and in good condition.

Despite other reviewers mentioning no mites in their bottles, I decided to take a chance on ordering anyway. A mistake… I assumed that many negative reviewers just didn’t understand the magnification required to see the mites. Alas, I too did not find any mites in my order. I have a background in Entomology and feel confident in my ability to identify the presence of mites including (roughly) what groups they are in. I examined the media with a lighted 40x hand lens for 20 minutes, carefully combing over vermiculite many times. 12,500 mites were way more than I needed and finding several hundred would have been sufficient for my needs. I have ordered a different predatory mite species in the past, from another source, and when it arrived it was swarming with mites. 12,000+ mites should not be hard to find… Hypoaspis mites are large as far as mites go, and have a distinct body shape with a reddish/orange color. They shouldn’t be hard to find. I did find around 10 mites but they were prey mites presumably: translucent white, long hairs, and very small. Shipping predatory mites with some prey mites is standard practice. Finding only 10 prey mites wasn’t reassuring as well. I didn’t find any dead mites so mass mortality isn’t the issue. Knowing dead mites would be desiccated and therefor much smaller was a driver in my spending so much time searching. It seems that the seller is very inconsistent in their orders, with some orders swarming with mites and others with nearly zero mites. I think potential customers would be wise to steer clear of GoodGuys and seek elsewhere for their needs. If I had a snake (which I don’t) that had a mite infestation that was a health problem, I would be freaked out that I had yet another delay in trying to help my beloved pet. Several days ago I requested a refund and have not heard back yet. If I do get a refund I will amend this rating an review. Updated review: Shortly after my first review, I called and left a message to Natures Good Guys saying I feared the batch that had been sent didn't survive the heat. It took about 5 days to get a call back. I believe her name was Katherine. She left a detailed phone message saying they would send more out, but for me to return her call or email with photos or video to verify the correct mite I was dealing with, so they could be sure hypoaspis miles was the correct remedy for my situation. I called back the next day and let her know we had grain mites, and she verified that hypoaspis was correct, and they would be sending more out as soon as they could. I didn't receive an email or call when they were shipped, which was almost another week later. I had no idea that they were sitting on my porch for hours because FedEx didn't knock to let me know. My husband brought them in when he came home from work. We let them sit in a dark room all night, and the next morning we kind of rolled the cardboard tube around and upside down to get all the substance mixed together well. Then poured some of it on a paper plate while still in the dark room, and shined a phone light on it. You can see some of the hypoaspis miles clearly on the left side of the paper plate by themselves. You can also see many in the middle area, plus lots of movement of the substrate, so this batch definitely arrived alive. *You really do need to do this, or you won't know, and you'll think there is nothing in the container or that they arrived dead.* I changed my ⭐ to a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ because they have amazing customer service. ____________________________________________ Original review: I ordered 12,500 Hypoaspis Miles on July 12, and received them by Fed Ex on July 15. I was very happy, as I didn't expect them til the following week, at least. I wish I had looked up how to tell if they were alive, but we have a huge infestation of grain mites in our 24x18x24 crabitat, and I just poured them into it, as well as on top of it. I sprinkled them all around up on the higher levels, moss hut, wicker hut, paid special attention to the food area, and tried to get them in every part of the crabitat, and on top of the outside of our crabitat. It has been 9 days since they have been in there, but I only still see grain mites. I have yet to see a different looking mite.😭 I fear they didn't make it, and have to order more.😩 We plan on purchasing springtails, dwarf white isopods, as well as powder blue and orange isopods to prevent this from happening again.

I want to express my gratitude for these mites. My sweet ball python came to me last Fall. She was severely neglected and had mites. She was miserable. I tried EVERYTHING to get rid of those mites. The ONLY thing that worked was this package of predatory mites. Fast forward to this month (April 2026). I noticed my poor girl started soaking in her water dish again. I found a few mites crawling on her. My heart dropped because she had been free and clear for MONTHS. I still have no idea how she got them again (we haven’t added anything new and have no other reptiles). I placed another order for these mites. I have a bioactive enclosure for her, so the thought of starting all over again is overwhelming. It has been about a week now. No more soaking in water CONSTANTLY. I haven’t seen a single mite crawling on her. She’s back to being her happy, comfy self. Due to the humidity in the enclosure, we also had some pesky fungus gnats trying to make a home in there. They are gone now too. The ONLY downside is that they eat the springtails. Otherwise, they leave the isopods alone. I will approach this the same way I did last year and wait a few weeks for them to finish their duty of eradicating the POS snake mites, then I’ll add more spring tails again. This approach has been so cost effective (not needing to redo the entire bioactive enclosure) and heal effective for my sweet snake who is no longer suffering. I am considering doing a maintenance round in a few months for ongoing prevention since this most recent incident seemingly came out of nowhere. I swear by these little predatory dudes now. So easy, so quick, so much less invasive compared to other mite removal methods. Thank you!

Don’t waste your money if you’re infested probably should only be prevention base

It's very hit or miss if you'll recieve live mites. I've ordered four containers of these mites and only had live mites in two. If you're treating grain mites, you should probably order more than one container. As I mentioned I've ordered four containers and the grain mite infestation is still ongoing.

We have bioactive reptile vivariums with soil, humus, and coco fiber mix substrate that use natural insect cleaners and have occasional grain mite, fruit fly, or fungus gnat explosions if things get unbalanced. Boosting our cleaners will eventually outcompete the pests for food but it can take many months as they find any other sources around the house to also live off of. I'm also in an agricultural area of the midwest and mice are inevitable every fall but this local population around the farmhouse we moved into comes with a parasitic mite. They can end up killing my gerbils and cause the cats and dogs to itch sores as the mites desperately look for more food sources. I spent 8months dosing my pet animals but meds only kill the mites after biting, trying to kill the infinite population of wild mice and stop their spread into an old house of infinite openings for them, and spreading nontoxic followed by less safe solutions all around areas of the house to kill the mites with no success. The population got so numerous despite all attempts that I began breaking out in red dots my doctor said did not look like any mite that typically bites humans. We decided releasing something that naturally hunts the pests down might be better than trying to kill or prevent every last one from managing to spread in the house. I actually didn't realize this arrived for 2 days as it sat at room temp before I spread the contents over damp soil and distributed it to vivariums and shallow seed trays of soil kept misted with water in several rooms. Even if it initially just looks like a container of nothing the barely visible mites could be seen when they started actively moving around on to different surfaces. Anything smaller than them or that reproduces in the soil was destroyed. Finally no more itching, no more medications, no more harmful compounds that the dry powders and sprayed areas took another couple months to clean off the floors, and bonus instant death of all flying pests instead of months of slowly killing them off. Even houses with no pets will get fungus gnats attempting to live on any moisture source including kitchen sink drains in areas of high insect levels like here so I think it's the only time in my life I've never seen any in a house for so long. I guess with a good food source the predatory mites multiplied and shortly after the pests disappeared I identified a gathering of the tiny moving dots around a water source as the hypoaspis. Then they were gone with no sign we ever released them except the lack of annoying flying or biting things around. I haven't seen a pest since then but if they make a reappearance in fall like most midwest pests of insect and rodent tend to do we are immediately spreading predatory mites without wasting all that time on insecticides, diatomaceous earth, vinegar in the sink drains, and scrubbing animal cages or sleeping areas. I'll gladly trade one temporary, nearly unseen critter wandering the house for a short time to kill all the pest ones that make themselves very noticeable.

Was hopeful this would help with a snake mite problem, but it was just a 35 dollar unsuccessful experiment, unfortunately. Never saw any sign of life from the time I got it and for the following two weeks I never noticed any "new" mites aka the predatory ones that I supposedly purchased here. Even if they had been eggs, still no sign of them ever being present - definitely a bummer.
