Very nice item works great
Just finished installing the back up camera. Mounted it on a 1999 Ford Explorer. Had to use bottom license plate bolts so I just flipped the mount 180 degrees so it could go up under bottom of plate and mount. Worked perfect. I remounted camera in top hole and raised and the camera. I did this because the lift gate handle was in the way using top plate holes. The Install was straight forward just take your time and run the wires neatly and you will have no problems. The key is to mount the antenna high in vehicle so it has a clear shot to display on windshield. I mounted it on the rear window post near back side window so it has a clear shot to display. I have a crisp image that is clear and easy to see what is behind me. I can also see the trailer hitch ball right at bottom of screen so it will be very easy to hook up boat not which is the reason for the purchase. Cannot wait to hook boat up now.

Why didn't I get this before?
I rented a car that had a back-up camera and I loved it and decided I wanted one on my 2003 Toyota Sequoia. I bought this one. It's easy to install and works very well. My issue was to install it and not have a bunch of wires hanging around, thus I chose the wireless version. However, how to get the wire from the camera on the outside to the antenna that had to be mounted inside. No videos around to show me so I looked for videos that did part of what I wanted such as how to remove panels inside the car. I found these and eventually was able to do a pretty decent job of hiding wires and making the installation look presentable. It is working flawlessly. I took the time to adjust the camera to the point I wanted, just starting to see the rear-bumper and then I practiced backing up with it until I felt comfortable backing out of my driveway just using the camera. The camera came in handy the same day I finished installing it. I had to go to a place and had to park in a multi-storied parking structure. I parked and there were no cars around me. When I got back to my car, I was hemmed in. I used the camera to back out and get real close to cars and made a difficult situation easier to get out of. I give it a 4 out of 5 only because the installation instructions could be a whole lot better when trying to install on a particular model of car. I realize that it would be hard to do all cars but my guess is that like me, large SUV owners would be ones to buy this and videos of those become a much more doable project.

This works great and makes backing up so much easier than before
This works great and makes backing up so much easier than before. It's vastly cheaper than a factory-installed unit, and does the job pretty much as well.Fitting it is a bit tricky. I attempted to fit it myself but eventually gave up and got my local mechanic to do it, for about an hour's labor. If you know what you are doing then maybe you could do it yourself, but it will probably require drilling a hole in something. The picture can be a bit glitchy sometimes but is usually fine for the purpose - seeing how close the car behind is. Don't expect movie-quality pictures.

The image presented on the monitor is good; the camera itself was easy to adjust
I installed this unit on a 2005 Pacifica. The installation was somewhat difficult. It would have been more difficult had I not gone on line to get advice and direction from others who installed the system. The image presented on the monitor is good; the camera itself was easy to adjust. I have some trepidation as it has not rained on the car since I've installed the system. I have read a few reviews where the reviewers said the camera is not waterproof as claimed by the mfr. I'll find out eventually. The only other negative is that the transmitter doesn't come with any kind of mounting bracket, so I would recommend a Velcro strip or something to stick it to a mounting spot. The monitor mounting system is somewhat lacking as well. On my Pacifica, the windshield is so far away from me, that if I mounted it on the windshield using the suction cup method, I wouldn't be able to see much. I was able to mount it on the dash, using the suction cup hardware supplied. However, I had to buy a weighted beanbag receptacle in which to place the monitor and the system supplied suction cup bracket. We'll see how it goes. The jury is still out on this one.

Great product! I installed this on a friends truck ...
Great product! I installed this on a friends truck and like it so much I just ordered another one for MY truck! It took longer to install though than expected. So, here are some tips for installing on a pickup truck: DON'T install the transmitter behind the LH tail lamp housing. The sheet metal between the transmitter, you and the monitor is too much-poor signal. My next step was to mount it inside the pickup box, LH side under the bed rail. My friends truck had a bed liner, so I had to pull that away to mount it behind the liner. I felt that would help protect the transmitter from the weather. That placement did help the reception; however as you move around in the drivers seat, your body still causes minor interference with the signal. Therefore, when my next Camera kit comes in, I'll be placing the transmitter on the RH side, under the lip of the bed rail. I have a hard tonneau cover, so again, that will protect it from the elements. If you don't have a bed liner or tonneau cover to protect it from the elements? Hmm, I would try putting it in a small wooded box to protect it. I also smeared clear silicone around the two connections at the transmitter to help keep out corrosion. What ever you do, test the signal before you permanently mount the transmitter.

Suction mount bracket broke after 1 month of use
Camera and monitor work fairly well. Camera is simple to install. However, I installed the camera beginning of July 2021 and by mid-August 2021, the monitor mount broke. I had left the mount suctioned to the windshield and when I got into my truck I found the whole mount lying on my dashboard. The lever mechanism for the suction cup broke. I could see after a few years the mount potentially breaking but breaking after just a month...very poor design on the suction mount mechanism.UPDATE: 6 months after purchase, the monitor will not turn on. If I could provide less then 1 star I would.
