Really good.
Overall really happy with it after a couple of weeks of using it. The sound quality is very clear with some nice lows. In-game music and sounds are epic and your spotify etc will also sound very good for the price point. It's not super audiophile level good but most people will be able to tell right away that the sound quality is good. The mic sounds ok, nothing special, but it may be a little bit on the quiet side in my opinion. I had to turn the gain up +10dB through windows to be heard in discord. It's very light and comfortable for a gaming headset and the cable is pretty long compared with other wired headsets I've used. The colour scheme looks awful but the headset design itself is kind of cool. It's plasticky but doesn't feel cheap. Overall it's a thumbs up from me.

Best overall headphones
For gaming, they are absolutely class. There are more expensive headphones that have X and Y features and go on and on about how they can make you hear the other player breathing in the other side of the map. Nonsense. These headphones are as good as they come for gaming. You hear everything in the game as crisp as the sound design of the game allows you too. That alone is enough to recommend them but the headphones have more features. For listening to music, 10/10 you would have to go to the £500+ bracket to get better sounding headphones. For everyday use, I use this headphones for taking calls. The microphone is rather good and both the people I call and my teammates in videogames appreciate that. Get over the fact they are not wireless, they are worth it. 10/10

Good, comfortable headset
The headset is comfortable, and reminds me a lot about my old Game One's. These could be seen as an update to those headphones. While the headset was great, the microphone lets in a lot of breathing sounds. I compared this against a ATH-M50xSTS-USB and a ModMic Wireless in a Teams call. In isolation, this device would have done well, but everyone on the call found this to be the worst performer. What surprised me, is that the ModMic wireless turned out to be the best performer - the ATH was really clear, but was too loud. I realise I could find a way to turn down the gain - however, I left all devices at default settings when doing this test. Back to the PC38X, so the sound is good, but the mic could be better. I then compared these to my Sennheiser HD560s, and I found the 560s to provide better sound. The hinges on the PC38x are not as sturdy as on the 560's - I think they would be far more likely to break. My suggestion is - if you want an easy solution, choose the PC38X. But if you are prepared to spend a bit more, consider a pair of 560's with a ModMic USB. It will be annoying with the cables, but I think the performance increase is worth it.

Great sound quality
As you'd expect from Sennheiser, the sound quality is very solid - great detail and a reasonably wide sound stage, thanks to the open design. As other reviews mentioned, the open design also comes at the cost of reduced isolation: you'll hear more of the background noise in the room (if you're somewhere noisy), and also people around you will hear what you're listening to (it's not too bad, but not perfectly quiet either, like you'd get with closed-back headphones). I use this primarily with my PS5, plugged into the controller, and it works really well. One thing to note is that the cable comes with a L-shaped plug, which is not the most convenient when plugged into the controller, but it's not a big deal. In terms of comfort, I have a head that's on the larger side, and these fit me well without putting too much pressure on. They are also fairly light, so you'll barely notice they are there, even during longer gaming sessions. One thing to point out is that the ear cups are on the smaller side - while they do just about fit around my ears, when they shift even a little my ears get caught under them. Again, not a big deal, just something to look out for.

Best PS5 headset I've used
Since I got my PS5 I have been on a quest to try find the best headphones I've had Arctis 7P, Audeze Penrose and Astro A50 Not one of the above headphones get close to the quality of the Sennheiser PC38X I can hear everything on these every small detail. Footsteps in Call of Duty to every little sound in Resident Evil Village or Ghost of Tsushima These cost half the price of the Audeze's and Astros which is another bonus Wired is always better than wireless if you don't want to hear fuzzy sounds, another great thing is you don't need to charge these just plug them into the controller and away you go If you are looking for the best sound quality for PS5 this is the set you need

Good mic but output very quiet
The mic is the best sounding mic out of the majority of gaming headsets (I’ve watched a comparison video on YouTube). However, it’s got an open back so obviously not noise cancelling but I already knew that before purchasing. The output is really quiet compared to when I use apple earphones for example. I play valorant and can barely hear the footsteps, I can hear my friends on discord more even though their volume’s a lot lower. I ended up buying a hyperx quad cast s.. I probably wasted my money on that cuz the mic of this is above average.

Underwhelming
I previously owned a pair of Sennheiser Game One Black which were open acoustic and we’re of a good quality. Needing to get noise cancelling a headset I thought these would do the job at £290. How very wrong was I, there fairly comfortable but the sound quality is extremely lacking for the price compared to what else is on the market. The noise cancelling seemed to be non existent. I brought these through EKER TRADE CENTRES, most stressful experience of my life trying to return them.

I'm really happy that I got this headset. I was skeptical about the lower end but it definitely delivers, far more than what I was expecting. The sound profile that I usually like is on the cleaner, higher, crispier side of things, so when I put this on for the first time the middle sounds really stuck out to me. At first I thought it sounded muddy, but after having them on for about a week I truly love how everything sounds. Warm and full while the highs are still there but not cringe worthy. When I go back to my other music set, they now seem too high for me LOL The clamping force was a bit tight at first but after a few days its a non issue, these are truly super comfortable. I've been gaming for hrs on end and while a bit warm you don't really notice it unlike other headsets. No sweating. Not too hot. The head cushion is amazing as I have yet to have any resting pain over long periods of listening. My only complaint, not with the headset but with the style i guess, but while being open back my QuadCast mic can pick up the sounds coming from them. The built in mic does NOT do this (sounds great too mind you) so its going to vary pending what type of external mic you are going to use. The Quadcast and other USB types usually have a gain sensitivity issue, so, again I'm not going to rest that fault on this headset really. Just an observation. This is with my QuadCast 4-5" from my mouth while the headset is pretty loud. Lastly, initially I was put off by the yellow and I didn't want to buy the BLK version from DROP bc it looks too clunky to me, but to be honest... its not that bad when you see it in person. Its more subdued. From what I can tell pics and vids usually make it look more vibrant than what it really looks like. BUT I can still see why some may think its an eye sore. A white, grey or some other neutral colour would have been ideal and PERFECT. Don't let the yellow put you off of these if you're having that fight, trust me.
