Another great book in the series
I joined his mailing list so received the notice last night that the new book in the series was available. Wonderful service and I wish others had that same capability. I immediately purchased the book and read it this morning. This is more of the same, action centered, exciting adventure that we've seen in the first books of the series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. These books are fun to read and I always walk away with a smile. Towards the end is one part that is a huge stretch but I won't say what it is. I would expect it on a comedy show. Nonetheless, if you enjoyed the first books in this series, you'll enjoy this one as well. If you haven't read the first books, you should read them before you read this one or several things won't make sense. All in all, another great effort!

this is a fun science fiction trilogy and enjoyed them all greatly
no details, no spoilers here just the basics. the trilogy is as said a fun read with several surprising and well placed plot twists. if hard science isn't your thing then not to worry this isn't in the same league as say the red mars trilogy by kim s. robinson. the first few chapters of the first book are a little slow but when setting up so many characters in so many universes and dimensions a good writer knows to lay out a proper foundation so the rest of the book/s flow well and "make sense." McGinnis is to be honest the newest author to make my "best of" list. that said i do have one minor gripe in that i mean by the time i got to the end of the third book, totally engrossed in the fast paced action and thinking at the time how is this going to conclude? with but a couple of pages left? it didn't. rather the book was left open ended with several story lines left open ended. UNTIL Mr. McGinnis writes a fourth book or starts work on another series of books to begin where this series ended i'll never know what finally happened to the scrapyard universe/s. that said this series is one that genuinely gets better and better the more you've read of it. surprises, multiple story lines, well written characters all done well. better still when McGinnis makes use of some aspect of physics, science in general he gets it right, no sloppy ridiculous errors that too many contemporary authors are okay with. imho when it comes to genres science fiction readers are more informed than most and we catch those errors, every one of them on the spot. it is so refreshing that this author took, takes the time to get even the most minor of details right.SO PLEASE MR. MCGINNIS GET THE NEXT BOOK OUT ASAP, many of us are eagerly waiting to find out what happens next!

So so
While the character development is pretty good and the overall premise of the story is interesting, there are way too many Hollywood-style impossible situations and poor science/math all around. If you like Die Hard 3 (or whatever the number) where people jump into flying helicopters, these series will be right up your alley. Spaceships being slowed down from near light to crawl in minutes with only forklift engines, enemies switching sides in battles like it's a roll of a dice, etc, etc. An advice to the author - next time you want to save Nan (or anybody for that matter), please don't use a truck from space dropping at a precise time and precise spot to level the bad guy.I won't even dignify the "ending", as the cliffhanger in a book like that is just plain bad.Overall very disappointed in the book, as it is the weakest of the three for me, and I won't be returning for me.

Overpriced
These books are relatively short for the price. The series started out very promising but quickly "jumped the shark" with munitions being manufactured in the "multiverse" JIT ..Just in time. Amazing technology that never seems to work. Veteran Navy Seals that when issued a new rifle do not immediately learn how to use them and get killed by beasts. The bad guy gets shot multiple times with plasma bolts, is not wearing armor and only lost his lower lip? Teleporting one spaceship inside another's hallways which are amazingly huge despite the aliens being 4ft tall. Extremely disappointing

definitely an enjoyable read, some room for improvement and the ending is a bit abrupt, i would recommend the series.
definitely an enjoyable read, some room for improvement and the ending is a bit abrupt, i would recommend the series.they are an unlikely but fun story, i assume aimed at the younger audience, there are some huge holes in the stories, like if they have "phase shift" capability and fabricators and unlimited JIT ordinance why not just phase shift bombs into the bad guys and be done with it? Jason, the main character, stumbles form one disaster to another, killing a lot of his own people along the way, I wouldn't want to be working for him.But it is entertaining and you definitely dont know whats going to happen next, I say buy the series, think of it as reality SCI FI. a guilty pleasure.

A pretty good book! …And series
Kind of a simple premise that is carried onto complicated one. Some really interesting characters.Somethings don’t quite fit such as reading a paper back on a spaceship,But that’s OK it’s still an old fashion read. Lots of drama. I liked it. Keep them coming
