Great little stand for price. When put together is sturdier than looks/feels when first unpacked. Be aware that this is not a true scanner, but is instead a stand to hold your camera while taking a photo of your slide. It has a built in light to light up your slide or negative so you don't need additional lights. The phone holder distance from slide is perfect get in focus pictures. If your slide needs adjustments, you will need an app such as Photomyne to adjust. Same to convert negatives to positives. There is a barcode to scan for this kind of app on the box but I did not use it.

Does what it is supposed to do but the app is useless. Had to use another app which is not free.

In short: a simple device that works as advertised. The construction is not robust but adequate for the job. It solves a simple problem, illuminating a film transparency and holding your mobile device at an optimal range, keeping the film and the plane of the device parallel and steady, allowing for a good image capture. That's really all it does, but that's what has to happen to make it work. I was hesitant to download and install the featured app for my device, as it did not originate at the app store. My standard camera app worked just fine. Once captured, I imported the image into more sophisticated photo editing app and just hit the invert button in the app. Note that I was working with black and white film.

Great, inexpensive backlight with three levels of brightness which I’m using to scan old 35 mm slides, some of which are over 60 years old. Very convenient, with easy set-up and comes with a USB power cord. Works like a dream. Recommended.

Lights up brightly and is just what I need to go through my old slides and negatives. I can easily see enough detail to pick out the ones I want to have reprinted. Pad is USB powered but does not have an AC adapter, only a cord to plug into the computer. I did not try out any software yet as far as using it as a drawing pad so I can't speak to that capability, but it is supposed to work like that. I am just using it as a light source for slides and negatives so far.

If you are looking for a solution that is low-cost, yet works well - this is it.

Seems like a nice product for the price. Packaging is a paper bag that offers marginal protection to the boxed light board. One side of the box had been crushed, but the contents appear to be ok.

Works great. Good brightness for sorting slides. Saved a couple dollars and got a used one that did not include a usb power cord or film weights. Already had a power cord that worked and I needed it so I did not return it. Amazon needs to make sure returns have all the parts before reselling them.
