Firman W03083 3300/3000 Watt Remote Start Gas Portable Generator cETL and CARB Certified, Black

Never ran. Called support. Never returned our calls. Went to send it back so we had to drain all the oil and gas we put in it to get it to run. The gas had a black residue in it. Pick up label was requested and unit picked up on September 17. Still no word on our return or the $875.00 we paid. Not to mention the three year warranty or the cover we are stuck with to date.

When I first received the generator I was very disappointed because it was surging and sputtering at idle. I was ready to return it but contacted the seller and then Firman. They told me to try disconnecting the battery for 60 seconds, reconnect, then start the generator again. It has ran smoothly ever since, and is fairly quiet for an inverter generator of this size and price. I can only give it 4 stars for now but I will update this once I have some more hours put on it. (I'm hoping for 5)Update 1/14/2018..... This generator is very difficult to start when it's cold, and the surging and sputtering issue has resurfaced.

FOLLOWED ALL SET UP INSTRUCTIONS OUT OF THE BOX. UNIT WOULD NOT START. READ IN THE MANUAL MAYBE TOO MUCH OIL WAS THE PROBLEM. DRAINED SOME OIL OUT WHICH WAS NOT EASY AS THE DRAIN PLUG IS DIFFICULT TO ACCESS AND OIL DRAINS BENEATH THE 100 LB UNIT WITH NO EASY WAY TO CAPTURE IT. THE UNIT THEN STARTED BUT ONLY WITH THE RECOIL PULL START. THE REMOTE AND ELECTRIC STARTERS WOULD NOT WORK. RAN IT FOR ABOUT TWENTY MINUTES AND TURNED IT OFF. ABOUT 30 MINUTES LATER TRIED TO START IT AGAIN WITHOUT SUCCESS. CALLED CUSTOMER SUPPORT WHO NEVER RETURNED MY CALL. RETURNED IT AND AM LOOKING FOR A MORE RELIABLE PRODUCT. WHEN YOU ARE IN NEED OF A GENERATOR YOU NEED TO KNOW IT WILL WORK. THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT PROVIDE THAT CONFIDENCE.

I bought this generator for the remote start feature, don't make the same mistake. I also own a Champion generator with remote start and it is rock solid. Starts all the time. This generator comes with a battery that is too small for the task. You have to constantly charge the battery from an AC source or it will die on you. This generator also does not like temperatures below freezing using the remote start. I will say that it starts easily using the start switch located on the generator itself, but I bought it for the remote feature which is almost useless. I wanted to buy another Champion generator w/remote but the price on Amazon went up several hundred dollars on that one so I thought I would give the Firman a try. It really wasn't worth it and it would just be too much of a hassle to return it. I use them both everyday and just deal with this one. I do wish I would have spent the extra money for the Champion.

Like many others, great out of the box, but problems came quick. Wont start in cold weather. Needs starter fluid to start when warm. Remote start stopped working after a month or so. Battery that came with it is junk. After 2 years of owning, wish i would've spent a little more on a Honda or Yamaha...

Item was damaged and would not start

We received the generator. It was easy to set up but would not put out any power. We plugged in our travel trailer but no power. We attempted to plug in a fan, no power. We reviewed the trouble shooting guide, our trailer cable functions normally and gives power to the trailer. We called the company who seemed stumped. They gave us a couple things to try with no success. It was a lemon. We returned it and are awaiting out refund now. This is unfortunate. The company and product get good reviews.

The generator is great! Runs smooth and quiet. We boondock a lot in our Travel Trailer so having a reliable generator is a must. The remote start is great to have first thing in the morning so you don't have to go outside. Firman customer service is terrible! They don't return messages or chat. If you stay on hold long enough, (I waited 3 hrs before talking to a live body). So don't expect any follow up after you buy from them. If you need a part replaced, good luck with that.
