250GB Hard Drive for IBM ThinkPad T61 T61p Laptop Brand New

You have to be careful when upgrading a lenovo/ibm ThinkPad hard drive, because not all are compatible with the BIOS and will nastily beep at you each and every boot up which there is no work around or stopping (short of removing the built in speaker on the mobo which you're crazy if you do).So this hard drive, the 250GB, works flawlessly. Came very well packaged and speedy delivery. Kudos to the sender.Anyway - 250 is the bare minimum for me now a days with all the HD video and 7MB per picture sizes I have. I used Symantec Ghost which took some tweaking to copy over the hidden partitions and set that as the active one before ghosting the main c drive. Anyway, great drive for the price. It's not SSD which is something I would prefer, but for optical, the size, compatibility and the price, I couldn't go wrong.

I made the mistake of thinking I needed a drive that was specific to my machine, which is how I ended up here. Drives are pretty standard as I understand it. I got a better deal by searching more generally for a 2.5'' internal laptop hard drive.This item is *not* brand new, it is refurbished. That's not a huge deal to some but it is incorrectly advertised. I advise that the seller indicate that this is a refurbished drive, "brand new" is misleading.

Working like a charm, using it on my T61 laptop without any issues.I would recommend it anytime as a replacement hard drive if having problems with yours.

This device works fine, format as per the software site provided by the mfg. If you use their software to set up and clone, no problems.

I was upgrading an older notebook computer and wanted to add a larger hard drive and this product fit my needs perfectly.
