2 Fish and Feather Teaser, Strong and high Quality!
This simple but very effective toy is the ‘new’ thrill of both of our cats. Our female is 9 years old and our male is still a “kitten” (about 4 months old), but he’s as big as she is at this point. Our cats are strictly “indoor” pets and both of them have their own, unique way of playing. The young male is an acrobatic nut! This Feather Teaser toy is right down his alley! The string is well attached to the wand and about 3.5 to 4 feet long. At the end of the string is a snap clevis & swivel, much like what you may see on some fishing rigs. The snap-swivel is easy to open and the two ‘fish-birds’, (I like to think of them as such, lol), have a very well attached, metal eyelet swivel just like the one on the end of the string except without the snap clevis part of it.You can quickly attach either of the feathered ‘cat lures’ to the string and/or make additional variations to snap on when you feel like a change. You can also buy them, (we bought a “bumble bee” looking one but haven’t received it yet)Each ‘fish-bird’ is very well sewn together and of surprisingly high quality materials. They’re both about 7 inches long and roughly that wide when you measure across the feathers. The body of each toy is about 4 inches by 1.5 inches without the feathers and tail. The body is stuffed and about an inch thick and the material is strong, yet soft and flexible. There’s a loop sewn into the nose and threaded through the eyelet of the swivel and again, it’s very sturdy and well sewn. The wands are each about 17 inches long. There’s also a two inch long, threaded coupler that allows you to screw the two wands together making a single, 32 inch, and VERY flexible, wand!I can’t say enough about those wands, really! They have the perfect amount of flex and when you connect them together, the flex is so good, that our male cat literally can’t break it!That’s saying a lot because he has broken several wands from other manufacturers with no problem. The cats have a cat ‘tower house’ and there’s a small hole in the very top of the highest enclosure.Though I doubt either of our cats will tear these feather toys apart, (even the feathers are very well attached), our male cat has already bit through the string. That’s not a problem, we simply tie the two severed ends together and we’re back in the game.If he winds up doing that too many times, (my guess is that he will), we’ll simply tie on a new length of kite string or maybe some nylon as a replacement. Because the male is still young and careless, he’s been able to get himself wrapped up by the strings of these kinds of toys. Therefore, we don’t leave them unattended with this toy. Just like a small child, the string could pose a danger if he gets into a tangle and then, (like most young cats), goes into a panic because he’s now realizing his situation. So we do recommend that you stay close by when they’re playing with this, or any similar wand/string toy. When they’re done, (or you are, whichever comes first), put the thing away where they can’t reach it.When we want to take a break but the cats don’t, we simply slip the two assembled wands into the hole and allow the feathered toy to dangle down from there. They sneak up, grab the toy and jump off the platform they were on at the time.Of course, the toy goes with them, and the wands will bend almost in half! The tension on the rig reaches its maximum and the toy is pulled free of the cat’s grip, (claws or teeth). Then, it slingshots back and that return action, stimulates them. They frantically chase it back down only to repeat the process almost to the point that the ‘cycle’ runs itself! The “Cat Toy Interactive Cat Wand” or, if you prefer, the “2 Fish and Feather Teaser”, is a great, reusable pet toy that can be kept interesting to your pets by simply changing the ‘lure’ with a different one from time to time. It’s surprisingly well made for the low price and it’s simple. But then, as most cat owners know, the simplest toys, (a paper bag or cardboard box), are often the best as far as the cats are concerned!5 STARS!

Best cat wand toy I've had to date!!
I think this is a great investment for cats and I would definitely get again!! I ordered 3 different wand toys from Amazon at the same time as my cats LOVE THEM and this is by far my favorite wand of the three. I've had 3 wand toys in the past (one of which recently suffered a fatal accident due to overzealousness on the part of the cat) and of the 3 older wands and the 3 newer wands, I've decided that I like this one the best. I was a little skeptical at first because my 3 older wands (about 10-12 years old) are a lot thicker so I wasn't quite sure how this much thinner wand would hold up to our 2 one-year-old cats---especially since it's a two-piece wand that can connect together to extend the length of the wand (something I've not had before). I must say however that I was quite pleased to discover that the wand has been holding up quite well for the week or two that I've had it---especially since I use it EVERY DAY for at least an hour or two in order to tire out our two young furry hellions. The BEST part about this particular two-piece wand is that the 2 pieces screw together to connect them which means that I can use it in the extended version without having to worry about it becoming unconnected when in use while I tug on one end and our cats tug fervently on the other. (One of the other 2 wands I ordered from Amazon also connects together BUT that one often comes apart when the cats tug on it.) I also wasn't too sure about how long the string would hold up on this wand as it's a much thinner string than I'm used to as my older wands are more like cord and less like string. Once again, I was pleasantly surprised by the strength of this string as when our cats tug on it, they mean business and one of cats is a sturdily built active 13-pounder. Our other cat probably weighs in at about 10 pounds and when she grabs hold of the toy in her mouth on one end of the string and chooses to not let go, I've actually dragged her closer to me across the hardward floors with the wand toy without the string breaking while I try to get the toy back from her so it's definitely heavy-duty stuff.I also like the fact that these particular attachments do NOT have bells on them as bells are dangerous to cats if swallowed and are also not usually attached to the toys all that well. These attachments attach differently than my three older wand toys so while I wasn't too sure how that would work out for me, I find that I actually prefer it even though I can't use my older attachments on this wand. The plus side to this kind of attachment wand is I like to make my own "pet-friendly/pet-safe" attachments and I can use most of what I make WITH this wand because of the little hook (?) piece on the end of the string. And while I'm not usually a big fan of feather-type attachments because they usually come loose and get eaten within the first 5 minutes of owning it, our 2 cats LOVE these 2 attachments that came with the wand AND by some miracle, they haven't yet been pulled off the toy and devoured. I like the fact that the feathers are brightly colored and sturdier than most and also the fact that instead of being JUST feathers, the attachments also have a bit of fluff and whatnot to them as well. I'm also guessing that the feathers are real (which I prefer over fake feathers in case they DO get digested) because our 10-pound Dora turns her nose up at fake toys regardless of whether or not it's fake fur, feathers, or anything else. If it isn't real, she quite simple doesn't want it which I must say makes my life EXTREMELY difficult at times. She'll growl and hiss at these feather attachments while trying to catch them and once she does catch them, she stuffs them in her mouth as far as they can go and just growl and growl while trying to figure out how to get it off the wand and away from me (which is usually how our game of tug 'o war ensues and she sometimes gets dragged across the floor with the toy in her mouth).Bottom line, I HIGHLY recommend this wand toy for multiple reasons and despite the fact that I don't need another wand toy yet, I will likely be ordering a couple of extra of these because dollars to donuts, I won't be able to find them again whenever I do need them!!!! Item also arrived on time and was as advertised. I also received an e-mail from the company after I received the toy asking how I liked the item and letting me know that if I had any problems with the toy, that I should just let them know. Not a lot of companies do that anymore so just one more plus in their favor.

Could use a few tweaks
My cats love these kinds of toys and are very entertained by this one. I love that the rope is thick and that it comes with an additional feather toy. Also, it's great that it's so long because I don't have to worry about getting accidentally clawed when my cats are playing with it!There are a few things I wish were a bit different. My cats love when these things are whipped around and are not at all gentle with it. You can't really do that with this toy because the two pieces disconnect if you whip it too hard or they pull at it with just the right amount of force. So that's annoying. I wish it connected better. Also, the little bell is enticing and a great feature, but I wish it didn't have to be hooked right by the feather toy. I have to be careful when I'm playing with the cats to make sure the bell doesn't smack them in the face or teeth.

Better quality than expected for the price.
The media could not be loaded. We have a similar type of want cat toy that I purchased at the local humane society a few years ago. Our cats have loved it, but the wand was plastic and recently broke. Amazon being more convenient than a trip to the store, I purchased this to replace it. Our new kitten loves it.Is it possible the wand is fiberglass? It seems sturdy and is long enough. I like that there is a comfortable grip that my last one didn't have. I also like that if the want survives the string and toy it is simple enough to attach a new one. This is far better than I expected at the price point. It is a very inexpensive toy, but I wanted to review it because so many cat toys here seem to miss the mark, but this one might be perfect.

Way over priced
The product is fine. Like a small fishing pole…however the price is way out of whack. $11.00 US Pet Fit For Life website.Had I seen it in a brick & mortar store I certainly would not have paid $40

I bought it for a friends elderly cat.
Old Matty loved the lures. He is not up to leaping after them but pounced and grabbed with surprising speed. He gave the lure a really good chew but it's no worse for wear. I recommend.
