Thomas the Train: Take-n-Play Tidmouth Sheds

This toy is wonderful. It is very easy to open up for play and then a breeze to put away. The track pieces are all permanently hooked together, so you don't have to worry about putting them together and taking them apart each time. The track folds up easily and stores underneath the shed. On the shed, the trains can be accessed on the front through the doors or on the backside. This makes it very easy for a child to play with by themselves and the trains never get stuck. The trains can be stored inside the shed, so there are no loose pieces that have to worry about. A great buy and is worth every penny!

My 4-year-old son has had the Tidmouth Sheds playset for about a year now. He takes it with him easily from one room to another, and we've even brought it along for out-of-town trips. The playset is durable and well-assembled. The turn-table is somewhat stiff so you have to push a little to make the engines turn. We have such a large collection of engines now, they can't all possibly fit in Tidmouth Sheds at the same time, but my son enjoys taking engines out and bringing others in depending on the game he's playing. The tracks connect easily to other take-n-play compatible playsets, and clean-up is a breeze as the tracks fold and snap underneath the actual shed. Since the track comes assembled, there's no risk of losing any crucial pieces. And despite other reviews, the take-n-play engines fit smoothly in and out of the shed doors. All in all, a great toy for imaginitive play. My son still loves Tidmouth Sheds and plays with it often! :)

I got this for a 6 hour flight for my 2.5 year old. It is just big enough to fit on two tray tables, and I was fine with giving up mine if it meant my son was entertained. It worked wonderfully and entertained him for 4 of the 6 hours of the trip! I call that success. I have seen this many many other places, and Amazon by far has the best price. Don't get it in the store!

It has been six months since we bought it and it is played with everyday by the Thomas fanatic we have at home. I would never guess a plastic toy would be durable like this. The hinges still work like the day it arrived. It is expensive though and that takes a star off. However, Tidmouth Sheds is almost in every Thomas movie and children can relate to it every time they watch a Thomas movie. So, it never loses the popularity and they do not ask for a new Thomas toy. Wooden Thomas trains fit in the tracks too, but this is a take and play set so the intended use is for smaller die cast take and play trains. You can fit in as many as 10 take and play trains on the tracks and 5 in the sheds but only 3 or 4 wooden trains on the tracks and none in the sheds. Overall, good product and a must buy for Thomas fans. I would recommend you put it in your wish list and check regularly to catch a price cut, and then buy it.

This is intended for the die-cast Thomas engines and cars -- the wooden ones don't work on it very well. Each of the little doors of the train shed open and the turntable actually turns. The gray track folds up and can be secured underneathe the shed for portability, and is easily unfolded by little hands to set it up to play. The back of the shed has a large door that can be opened to quickly and easily stow the die-cast engines and cars inside. The handle makes it perfectly portable to take to Grandma's, playdates, etc. It can also connect to other "Take-n-Play" sets. This is probably MY favorite of all my sons' Thomas train toys (they love it too!)

This one's not bad overall. However, I would expect much higher quality from the Thomas & Friends brand and also expect higher quality from Fisher Price.It is difficult for a slightly longer train to make the turn onto and off of the circle in front of the sheds.They've cut the angle too tightly and not raised the inside railing high enough. Its such a small thing, but so fundamental you have to wonder if they even tested this properly before releasling it? The sheds themselves are fantastic. But the core value of a train set is that trians are supposed to run on it well. Hence only three stars. If the track was ok I'd give it 5 stars without hesitation.I hope they fix this. It would be an easy adjustment and would make so many little toddlers (and their parents) happier.This isn't an isolated issue. The trains in Take n Play are fantastic. But the train sets are generally of a much poorer design (some much worse than others). It would be great if they could improve the sets to match the level of their trains. If not, there are going to be a lot more disappointed parents and kids in the Fisher Price brand name. People take their Thomas seriously and there's a lot at stake here! Go Thomas!If they don't fix the sets my recommendation is to not buy this series at all. Buy the wooden ones. At least they have tracks that work! What good are good trains without tracks to run on?

This is exactly as I imagined and my daughter is going to love it for Christmas. It is not too big and folds up nice a portable.I don't know why Fisher Price is not continuing to make this. For a Thomas Take & Go fan, this is high on the children's want list.

Santa brought all Thomas Train things this year, and one thing my son had been asking for over and over again was "little Tidmouth Sheds" (there is a larger Trackmaster one that Santa brought him as well). Roundabout is nice for more action than some of the other Take and Play stations. I recommend buying the extra track set to connect the different stations. Toys R Us has a pack for $16.99, while Amazon sellers charge $37 (but maybe the more expensive one has more pieces?). I recommend this toy for your little engineer and his magnetic Take and Play trains.

Pista non troppo grande ma che comunque dà la possibilità al bambino di inventarsi sempre percorsi diversi grazie alla ruota rossa girevole che porta alle diverse porte del deposito. Porte di facile apertura e chiusura anche per un bambino di 2 anni e mezzo (sotto supervisione di un adulto). Due attacchi liberi sui lati per poter agganciare altre piste thomas take'n play. Trenino thomas incluso molto resistente.

Es lässt sich wunderbar auf Reisen mitnehmen bzw. eignet sich sehr gut überall dort, wo man wenig Platz hat. Es ist schnell aufgeklappt und wieder weggeräumt und bietet Kindern eine gute Spielmöglichkeit. (Wer allerdings Geld und Platz hat sollte auf eine richtige Bahnanlage nicht verzichten - das ist kein adäquater Ersatz).

We bought this after my daughter played with it at a friends house and loved it. I love the way that it folds in on itself so easily that my 4 year old can do it unaided and comes with a handy carry handle.Initially I was concerned that the plastic may not be particularly sturdy - that along the way we would have a few bits snapped off or broken. A few months in though and we have had no breakages so far. This is very well played with so I feel we have really put it to the test.I really love the fact that this subtly allows you to link to and expand with the rest of the Take-n-play series - from five doors for trains to rest, the turnstile that allows you to switch between multiple tracks, and the ability to link more track easily. We've already purchased a track extension kit and a couple of extra trains to go with this.The only fault I can find is that the small tab to lock the track in place when folded away needs to be double checked. It clips on easily but a few times it has suddenly unlocked.I love the portability of this. It's fantastic for taking on short trips or to visit family. Despite it only being one loop my daughter doesn't seem to have tired of this yet.Highly recommended.
