Star Wars Supreme Edition Darth Vader Collector Mask Black

This helmet is cast from the original movie molds! Rubies has outdone themselves with this excellent high-quality reproduction of Vader's likenes.Vader's "tusks" and the inner mouth-piece grill are metal. This further enhances the realism of the mask. The inside of the mask is lined with foam and the adjustable straps ensure a very comfortable fit. The mask also mimics the subtle shiny and flat tones of black depicted in the movies. The lens in the mask are tinted like the movie-prop as well. The two pieces of the helmet are secured by velcro. The helmet comes packaged in a colourful collectible display-box. Please look at the pictures I posted for this product.However, remember that Dave Prowse, the actor that played Darth Vader, was 6' 7" and he was a bodybuider. So the helmet is VERY large. Be warned that if you are SHORT or SKINNY you might resemble "Dark Helmet" from the movie "Spaceballs", instead of Darth Vader. Trust me... I know because I'm 5' 8"The helmet is a great collector's item since it is 1:1 scale prop-replica. I will display this with my "Master Replicas - Darth Vader Lightsaber FX" which is also a 1:1 scale replica. You could also wear this with the rest of the costume (availble from Rubies) and attend costume-parties at Halloween. You may also ask your ex-girlfriend to dress-up as the emperor and reinact the scene when Darth Vader throws the emperor off the balcony. Just kidding!The only minor problem I had as that glue that attaches the velcro seems a little weak and started to let go. But who can't apply a glue to velcro? The bottom-line is that it is very sturdy.If you are a Star Wars collector like I am, this is a superb prop-replica and a cool costume piece. It is very well priced on Amazon.com. Rubies surprised me this time. I normally find their stuff sub-par, but every once in a while they come out with a good product.This helmet meets all my expectations, and more! Now, before I go into more detail, I have to say that if you are expecting a 100% accurate quality helmet for this price, you are like Jon Snow and know nothing because you will have to pay a lot more money for something like that. Prop replicas (I think this helmet is good enough to be classified as a low end prop replica, but some would probably disagree with me) of helmets like this go for hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars.This helmet is claimed to be made from the molds from Empire Strikes Back. Realistically, this is probably made from a mold of a mold of a mold... of the mold from Empire. Molds of props get "watered down" when they make molds from molds. Basically, it's not 100% screen accurate. HOWEVER, this does not mean it is bad. It still looks very good to the untrained eye. Unless you know all the details of Vader's helmet, you won't really notice differences until you actually hold it up to a picture of the original to compare.For this price, you will not get much better. In fact, I think this looks very good. Good enough that it could easily be used for display in your collection rather than as just a costume piece. A few words about this for those who might be worried about these details. It is big. It is the same size as the original, and therefor is made to fit David Prowse (the actor who wore the suit in the films). He is a massive guy. Also, you will notice that it has inconsistent texture and is not symmetrical. This is on purpose, not a defect. Certain surfaces are matte, and others are gloss. This is an attempt to mimic the multi-color paint job of the original. Yes, the original was not all black. It was actually black AND grey, but it doesn't show up well on camera. The original helmet was also not symmetrical because the mold was handmade. They tried to replicate this in this helmet.Overall, it's not the best Vader helmet on the market by a long shot, but it's still VERY good, and it is extremely cheap compared to other Vader helmets. It's big, so some people may find it uncomfortable to cosplay in (unless you are like me and have a big head), but it at least makes a very nice display helmet. Totally worth the price.

Well here is my take on the Darth Vader Rubie's deluxe mask and helmet. First off I want to tell everyone that it is a 2 piece you get the mask, and a helmet. When I boight this the add said it was a medium size, but they are all one size fits all or so they say lol, and it was also stated it was a multi coloured one. So from what I figure they ment is that it was not all glossy shiny black, the helmet is shiny, but the mask has some shiny spots and then mostly matte black like gun metal black. I think it is nice the different colours adds character, and the helmet used in Star Wars was not all glossy it to had matte or a greyish tone, I guess for the lighting to catch aspects of it. The helmet is all glossy. Sorry for writing a book for a review, but I want you to be able to kniw as much about this mask/ helmet as possible! It is big because the actor who it was made for was about 6 foot 7 and a bidybuilder/power lifter so a huge man!!, but there is adjustable straps at the back of the mask which make it fit really well. The face mask is all padded inside it feels very comfortable to wear, the lenses make it seem like you are under water so wabble when you look through them, so could be tricky on stairs lol. The velcro that hold the helmet on comes off easily so you could use crazy glue and dven put some velcro on both sides because it moves like a bell when you move alot. I reaserched helmets and masks for a long time before buying this one, and there are some that seem to look a bit better, but with a very hefty price tag into the thousands. On google there is a guy 5 foot 8 and he wore it and it didnt look bad at all, so if your not huge or 6 foot it will work, with your suit nobody will complaine its VADER lol, I think its a fantastic mask and helmet and I paid $120 for it and think it was worth it on the US Amazon, because here in Canada they start at $399. So even with the echange and shipping I still paid less. I am 5 foot 11 and a ponch lol and plan on getting a breathing box and wearing this next holloween can not wait!!! So enjoy yours! Its great for a display piece in a movie room to.

Heute ist der Helm angekommen und ich finde ihn einfach nur mega, die Linsen sind zwar flach aber es passt einfach zum Helm.Eindeutig der beste Helm von Darth Vader, Klare Kaufempfehlung für Star Wars Fans :)Ps: Er sieht genauso aus wie auf dem ersten Bild
