I’m very happy I bought this to replace my Hayward sand filter. Installation took some planning but was pretty easy. My pool looked better after just a few hours run time. If you go with the pipe threaded models..be sure that your threaded fittings don’t have seams at the threads. Mine did and they caused leaks. Also note that the threads in the filter are VERY deep. Be sure to use 3 turns of thread tape like the instructions say to compensate. I also used Rectorseal T plus 2 thread sealant which worked GREAT. I placed mine up on cinder blocks to help it drain and make the plumbing easier. Someone recommended using a bucket to cover the unit, so I took a used and rinsed chlorine tablet bucket and cut out a hole to see the gauge and then added plastic sheeting to keep the sun off. I’m going to buy a second filter to make change outs easier. Overall I’m very happy with this unit.

Bought this to replace same that was 10+ yrs old. After 10+ yrs of FL sun it developed a leak. Best Price was on Amazon by far & comes with filter (some others did not). Used for in ground pool. Very good product that performs as advertised & it was delivered sooner than expected. Use to have a DE filter but this one does just as good of a job & it is much easier to maintain. It was delivered with a cracked pressure gage but customer service was great and shipped another one that I received in a couple of days. I would suggest they don’t ship it with the pressure gage installed which should solve that issue.

My pool guy was quoting me $1200 for upgrading the filter to a 120sq feet system. I got lucky because I found a used "like new" item here for $350. The filter arrived and it looked brand new to me. I had to change the pipes and redo the plumbing. the tools and supplies cost me about $50 at home depot. In total, I ended up saving $800 from what my pool guy was asking. The filter is of high quality and works perfectly. The water in the pool is very clean. I am a happy customer.

Was a direct replacement of prior system that lasted ten years. Though faded under intense sun the housing was still solid. The failure was the threaded rod the cap is held down with.. Saltwater had its way with it, and a turn too far with my gorilla grip snapped that puppy flush to the bottom of the casing. Insofar as the product is concerned, a stainless steel or zinc rod would hold up better, but after ten years? Its hard to complain. System came with filter already in it which was a nice surprise and explained the cost. I dont use Hayward replacement filters as i dont want to pay for them... Others are just as good for most part, with only slight inferiority. The trick is having two or three filters, allowing one to dry completely to be cleaned thoroughly, with one cleaned (or new) and the other in use... They'll last much longer than even five filters in constant use with this practice. One hint: the fittings for intake and exhaust are often tapered slightly, which means you should make liberal use of thread dope or tape, and seat them with even, constant/steady, and slow pressure until they are completely seated... There is nothing worse than cutting pvc, mocking it up sans glue/bonding agent, then putting it together with glue and realizing it leaks because you didnt seat the fitting threads properly.... Yeah, I may or may not have done that. Use thread dope or tape., a lot., make sure its seated.. Get two extra filters. Expect years of service, even in a salt water pool with consistent disagreement with metals... Ive nothong but good to say about performance..
