OTTERBOX SYMMETRY CLEAR SERIES Case for Samsung Galaxy Note8 - Frustration FRĒe Packaging - CLEAR

Most of my reviews are positive, I really didn't want to write such a negative review about a case from a company that I really liked. I have always used OtterBox and thought that although bulky - the brand was the best. I had no problem going with this case because of the brand name but I was sorely disappointed.I have only had the case one month and the power button does not work right. It is really hard to push. REALLY HARD. All of the other buttons worked like they should. I can use the warranty and pay the $5.99 to have it replaced and take a chance on having it happen again, but I don't want to. The option is there, OtterBox is good like that and does offer the warranty, hence the second star. Otherwise I would have given the case one star.The case also scratches easily and that looks bad with a clear case. It's not easy to see since I had remove the case to take the pictures but you can really see it with the dark background on your phone. All cases scratch, that is just what happens, but this one either scratches more or the fact that it is clear makes it more obvious. The new case (half the price, same warranty) is in so I am not using the OtterBox case anymore! Happy! The clear OtterBox case also yellowed quickly, I took pictures of that also (if you can see on the sides). It's a regular use phone, and I wash my hands on a regular basis. I am adding pictures so you can decide for yourself if this is the case for you. I wish I had liked this case and I wish the button had not been defective. I'm just not going to pay shipping to take a chance on getting another defective phone case that scratches and turns yellow.

Had several otterboxes over the years never any issues. This one doesn't allow me to turn up or down the volume. My wife got the berry one and is having the same issue.

I've been a huge fan of Otterbox cases for years but this clear case is a huge disappointment for me. First, I have had the case for almost a month now but there are too many scratches. (What happened to "scratch resistance" as advertised? ) I handle my phone very gently (with the clear case on) but still scratched. These scratches and finger prints make both the phone and the case really ugly. C'mon, it is an expensive case but can't handle scratches and the finger prints? I should have gone to a different brand.... very disappointed.

Poor protection. Purchased along with the safety glass and the phone is cracked. Doea not protect the screen sides in any way. This is coming from someone who is very careful with their phone. I'm going to say partial blame is for the phone design itself, but they really should have thought about protection for the design when creating this case for their product line, especially for the price. This company used to have ideal protection. I'd give this case zero stars if possible.

very disappointed with this case for the samsung note 8. ive always used otterbox cases (defender, commuter, and symmetry for older notes) but this model missed the mark. the biggest issue is the misalignment of the volume and power buttons. its nearly impossible to properly use the buttons with the case on. the bottom access for the s pen is also tight and poorly aligned- the pen does not eject smoothly and usually gets caught on the case and has to be pulled out with your fingernail... i will be returning this case asap.

Horrible fitting case!!!!!!!! Bought this for my Note 8 and I was very dissatisfied. I usually love otterbox cases but this one was very loose around the edges. The phone actually slide right in with no pressure at all. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, go with the otterbox defender which I also bought and that works great on my Note 8

I bought a Quad Lock universal kit to mount my phone on my bike handlebars but they did not have a case for my phone. So, in order to use it, I needed a phone case with a hard plastic back to allow for a proper adhesion between the phone case and the adapter. This case was suggested in the Quad Lock video that I watched and it has worked out well.PROS-All the cutouts fit precisely over the ports/openings on my phone.-Though the back is hard, the sides are flexible which make it easy to take it off the phone. I found this as a bonus because I primarily use this as the case for my bicycle mount and use a smaller case for carrying around.CONS-With the case on, it takes noticeably more effort to push buttons (even more so than my other case). Though, some may find this as a bonus because if it is loose in bag, there is less of a chance that a button gets pushed. Like that vexing, Bixby button.

The case clearly protects the Note 8, despite the curved-glass boundary. However, the design anticipates that the user plans one-hand use (right hand), but the provision tor turning the cellphone on/off is totally lacking in performance. There is no "hole" for the Note's own On/Off switch to protrude. Instead, the design covers the switch, and instead has a built-in protrusion over the phone's actual switch. The material of construction of the case, semi-elastomeric, is too stiff to allow easy one-finger actuation. I have to turn the unit 90 degrees, held in my left hand, and use my right-hand first-digit fingernail applied vertically to make the connection. Precludes one-hand operation.

I am kind of disappointed, because I have supported otter box through most of my cellphones. I also used to work in the cell phone industry. This is the first time I have received an otter box product with this less than satisfactory quality.

I like this case because it protects my phone but doesn't make it look bulky and awkward. The phone is well protected but easy to handle and looks nice, which is exactly what I was looking for.
