Great for younger kids
My daughter wanted a dance game and she is just abut 5. So I was looking for one that would let her actually enjoy herself. After reading a few reviews (and seeing the price) I went with Nick Dance 2. Definitely a great purchase. As others have said, it is more forgiving that a standard dance game (i.e. Dance Central) so that works great for younger ones. Plus my daughter knows all of the characters in the game so that adds to it. The song variety is good enough, she hasn't been bored yet. Although she also doesn't play for all that long at a time. It also allows two players to dance at the same time, which helps when there are multiple children involved. The controls for getting to the dances are easy enough, my little one has some trouble but she does it fairly easily. If you are looking for dance game for young kids, this is the way to go.

Still tons of fun for the little ones...and an improvement over its predecessor
Great new characters added from the previous one, including Team Umizoomi and the Bubble Guppies. They've also added the ability to escape from songs once they've begun. Before, it was a matter of suffering through an accidentally selected song. Still no sign of Yo Gabba Gabba. I presume that one's for a future release. All in all, my four year loves this one.

Annoying
Here's what I want the Nickelodeon Dance series to do. I want to turn it on. I want it to start playing songs and having various Nick Jr. characters dance. And then I want to let my three-year old dance and have fun while I go read the paper. Here's the realilty. I need to stand there the whole time making 50 different choices to make it work, and then listen to Dora tell my kid 100 times that he's not standing in the right space. The people who built this must feel like kids are actually going to care about the scoring methodology for their dance competition. Maybe that makes them feel better about their lives, that their coding a computer game for three year olds to dance with a computer-generated Twist from the Fresh Beat Band. BUT NO ONE CARES. They should treat this like a DVD of dancing Nick characters and just let it play. Would be much better.

A little to early
It's fun, maybe a little early for my 4 year old to understand games. It also annoying to get direction you can't fast forward through

The menus can be controlled with xbox controller
A lot better than the first version. And the menus can be controlled by the controller also. So a young child can dance even if cannot control the menus with hands

Fun
My 4 year old likes this game. It gets him moving, but I notice that this game pretty much has no sensor? It does but it really doesn't. It lets him have 3 stars just from fidgeting around and from that, it really won't teach him as much. Regardless, this teach and help kids to work on their body coordination. He plays Just Dance 3 with me but he finds it rather hard, but that's how I got him started. What's fun about this is the songs, it's the same song he grew up listening to from Nickelodeon, so he's familiar with them and much easier for him to dance along to.

We recently bought an xbox and this game isn't as easy to start as it was on wii. Maybe that is why it isn't available at most stores anymore!!
