Flavor is complete awesomeness .
This has got to be one of the best gravies I have ever had. I own a small deli and I use this product for my burgers and it changes regular beef to an almost Angus beef flavor with a combination of certain spices. I do water it down so it’s not nearly as thick. It truly does make 1 gallon of deliciousness so you might want to have a few containers handy for the extra gravy. The best advice I can give you if you are looking to purchase this particular item is read the directions very carefully do not assume anything. Using the cold water to slowly mix the gravy mix is very very important. I have found if you strain out the very few chunks you have perfect gravy. I would buy this product 1 million times over again. The best part about gravy is you can always add a hint of liquid smoke to make it taste like it’s fresh off the grill even if you have to cook The burgers in a skillet. If you want to use it for mashed potatoes or I guess what commonly used as gravy and you follow the recipe to the T it is a beautiful thick gravy that makes anything melt in your mouth. For all the Home chefs out there you can certainly add whatever spices you want to it to jazz it up. If you do not need a full gallon of gravy just add a little bit of the gravy mix to the cold water then add that Max to the boiling water and you should be good to go you know the thickness of gravy. Do not get impatient if you’re using this method it takes a little bit of time for the gravy to set. Play around with that a little bit figure out the taste that you enjoy make small batches and I guarantee you you will fall in love with this gravy as well.

Bad
Listing stated 12 packets, only one sent. That one was open and gravy powder open. I am unable to even contact anyone. Nothing to return. All over front walk.

decent gravy mix
this manufacturer has a better product called minor's beef base. the gravy is okay, but the beef base is more flavorful, although considerably more expensive. I combine both for great flavor and texture. it makes for a really expensive gravy, but the flavor is top notch. for a stew, it is unbeatable.

A Salty Gallon Of Gravy
Little did I know this packet makes a GALLON of gravy. So it sat in my cabinet for some time before I was in desperate need of gravy for a dinner recipe and forgot to buy a smaller jar version. I took the chance to make the needed amount and sealed up the remaining mix. This is a traditional style brown beef gravy. It thickens well but you do need to whisk the heck out of it to make sure the powder is thoroughly mixed. It is super simple to make, just add water and heat for several minutes. That is it. I suppose that you could make the entire gallon and freeze what you don't need, but that would require you to freeze it in portions- too much work in my opinion for a simple mix and heat recipe. It was easy enough to eye ball the amount I needed and add water to my desired thickness. However, I would add a little more water to it as it does continue to thicken even once off the heat.I have also found this to be a salty gravy. In all fairness this may be because I didn't do any math to properly scale down what I made and just did it by estimation. If you feel like taking that sort of cooking risk, you won't be disappointed but will probably find you need to tweak it a bit. And if you really do need a full gallon of brown beef gravy at one time then you will find this to meet your needs.

need to boil to prepare, good taste
The gravy was easy to prepare - mix it with cold water and pour slowly into boiling water, stirring constantly, and boil for 3 minutes. I liked the consistency and the flavor was quite OK. There were no lumps. I had to add salt, because it was not nearly salty enough, but it might be a plus for someone who watches their salt intake. Looks like a good thing to have in the fridge. I wish they printed a recipe for making smaller batches of gravy, so we would not have to do the math, but it was not hard to figure out how much to use for my purposes.
