Great for my horse's assorted wounds!
I love these gauze squares. My 23-year-old Appy recently developed some bad abrasions on his hocks and lesser abrasions on his front fetlocks, so I've been keeping them medicated and covered 24/7. I started out using some 12 ply woven squares, but I found that they stuck to his wounds and the frayed threads would get caught in the Velcro of the protective boots that cover the wounds. I'm part way through my 3rd package of these squares, and I think they're much better than the woven. They still stick a little sometimes if I leave them on a little longer than usual, but not as badly as the woven squares did. They're soft and look comfy, and they're absorbent enough that very seldom does anything seep through to the fleece lining of his boots (I use a stack of maybe 5-6 of them).

very thin
These are okay, but way thinner than another brand we've been using. We used Kendall Versalon 4 ply 4x4 for our son's bottom 2 years ago because that's what our hospital used. I bought a case of 10 (200 count packages) that lasted me a few months for that child and a few months our new baby. I've run out and wanted to stock up again, but saw that when you buy the Medline/Caring brand in bulk, you save probably something like 75% off the lowest internet price I could find on the Kendall brand. So I bought one pack of Medline at $6.30 just to try it out before buying a whole case for much less per pack. Anyway, these are way thinner than the Kendall brand, so I'm going to stick with what I'm used to, even at a much higher price.

Thin one time, Thick the other
I ordered two of these on two different days. The first ones that arrived were a little on the thin side, but still useable. I had been buying the Johnsons and Johnsons Mirasorb sponges and they were like 4 times the price, so I thought I could do with a slightly thinner product for a big price savings. The second pack I received was WAY thicker. I just received my third pack today...what will it be? Thick or thin? Either way, this is a good product for the money.

Very satisfied
As with many others, we started looking for this as a replacement for baby wipes after seeing them used in hospitals. We much prefer using these (after wetting them with hot water), and the product is exactly the same as the one in the hospital. They have quite a few other uses as well. However the amazon description/product listing is very confusing (in terms of the quantity -- it says 2000 count right now for me, but I am quite sure that they are talking about a single box with 200 sponges given the price). I would recommend buying directly from one of the stores that actually sells them. The product we buy is: "Caring Non-Woven Non-Sterile Gauze Sponges, 4"X4", 4PLY, NS, LF, 2000/CS -- Medline product number PRM25444)

Just like at the hospital
When we had our newborns, the hospital used nonsterile gauze instead of baby wipes, along with water. This was less irritating than baby wipes, and also much, much cheaper. But when we left the hospital, we couldn't find these in the store anywhere. I purchased a few different gauzes from Amazon, before I finally figured out that we needed the "nonwoven" type. These 4x4 nonwoven nonsterile packages are perfect for wiping baby's bottom! Soft and absorbent. We found the medline brand to be slightly softer than the dynarex(sp?) brand.Note that sometimes amazon switches up the listing from the bulk 2000 per case to the single box of 200. Be sure to search for the bulk one, as it is about 3 times cheaper!

does the job
I have had the unfortunate bad luck to be in need of large amounts of gauze to change wound dressings daily for my mom. Opening each of those individually wrapped ones was driving me crazy as we'd use probably 10 a day, so these are great for that. I was at first freaked out by the "nonsterile" label, that just means they aren't individually wrapped. These are good quality gauze, thick and absorbent without being crazy thick and hard to cut if necessary. This was by far the best price i've found if you need large amounts of gauze.

Great value
These gauzes are great for keeping animal wounds clean, and are a nice product to keep in every bodies medical kit...you know the one you keep in the house just in case of emergencies? ;-)If my review helped you, could you please click "helpful" button below. Thank you!

Gets the job done
These are a great price and product. We use them for "cat care" on our cat who needs it. If you have shopped for gauze before, you know it can be a little confusing as far as woven vs. non-woven. These particular ones are more like a piece of a t-shirt, rather than the kind of gauze you can almost see through due to the threads being more spread out. Would work great on humans as well as long as you aren't looking for sterile ones. These are not individually wrapped.
