Kinda funny that you pay more than 35k for a car in 2023 and still get incandescent bulbs for the trunk. This like is bright and the installation only took less than 5 minutes. A great addition to what it was supposed to come standard.

Update 4/2021: Over the winter I found out that this does dimly flicker only when the car is on (either running or in accessory mode) AND one of the back seat lights is also on. Other than that very specific circumstance, it is totally off whenever the trunk is closed. This flickering does not seem to introduce any electrical gremlins to the car so I can't really complain and have not deducted any stars due to what a good value this is even with the rare dim flickering given its current price point.Original impressions:I got this because the Alltrack got a dim halogen bulb with a lens pattern that left grid lines all over the trunk area, although the entire rest of the cabin has nicer LED lights. This is way brighter and matches much better with the rest of the interior lights of the car. This unit replaces the entire bulb housing, which makes it all the simpler to upgrade. The only downside is that the lens also has the same grid pattern, but the LED modules are closer to the lens than the halogen light was making the grid much less noticeable. I've also heard that in this model year of Alltracks LED light swaps in the trunk area tend to stay lit dimly after the light is off, but this has not occurred in my vehicle with this module. All in all a good purchase.

I purchased 2 lights, one went in my 2016 Golf Sportwagen and was a direct replacement and fit like OE light. The other was for a 2019 Jetta and it was super loose and rattled around because the metal tab did not make contact with the sheet metal in the trunk to hold the light tight to the car like the original light housing. I considered reusing the factory housing but it was not able to accept the led board. I used the new light with some tesa cloth tape to prevent rattles. I will probably look for a better fitting light if I have issues later.Install is easy but its possible to break the OE light taking it out and pressing the metal tab on this light is difficult if you need the remove the light in the future.In both cases, it provides a lot more light and makes it a little easier see at night. The Sportwagen has Leds for the interior dome and map lights from the factory but not in the trunk, as a bonus the cars lights now match from front to back and it looks great.

Bought this because the vendor was clearly noting that this would fit mk4 jetta trunk as a replacement light. It will NOT it is longer. Steer clear, vendor is just trying to turn a quick buck and stick you with an incompatible product.

Quite the upgrade over the pen light. My oem light wasn’t always staying on and when it was on it was hard to see in the trunk. This one is a bit larger in size thank the oem so I had to cut the hole about an inch longer so it would fit. But it works great otherwise.

Easily installed and brightens up my trunk-space extremely well. Beats the OEM light 10 times over! Highly recommended. Thank you
