UPDATED REVIEW. I bumped the item up from 1 to 3 stars.It looks great. Isn't terribly sturdy - so idk about sitting on it as a "bench" - but it does the trick for storing shoes.I had to drill a new hole myself (see why below) so that may add to its instability - but I must say that after the initial aggravation dissipated and I was able to assemble and gift it - all is well.Can't get to 4 or 5 stars because of the original issue - though I would have gladly bestowed 4 stars upon thee if the original issue never existedPitiful. 3 of the 4 legs are fine, but 3 legs do not a "bench" make. One of the four legs was drilled in the wrong place (pictured) making this "bench" entirely useless. I say "bench" because there is no way that once put together you should attempt sitting on this thing. It's a shoe rack - full stop. If it wasn't so brittle I would attempt to drill new holes so as to save myself the aggravation, energy and time of returning this for a new one. But alas, I fear that due to it's poor craftsmanship/quality that drilling new holes would destroy it beyond repair. I may opt to do so anyway as I purchased this as a gift and receiving a replacement a week from now will be of no use to me. Really not sure how to proceed - but that's another topic. Extremely disappointed considering the many positive reviews. It's a mistake by the producer that I find hard to make. Incompetence and laziness. You can see in my picture that with all 4 legs lined up next to each other that their error is damn near impossible to miss. A phenomenal waste of time

This bench is exactly what I was looking for. The bamboo is really great quality and it was really easy to put together. The tools are included and the instructions are image-only. There were no strange chemical smells either, which is always a plus.This is a small bench but can hold the weight of me sitting on it with no issues (130 lbs). I wear a size 8 in shoes, and each shelf holds 3 pairs comfortably. This bench can be used for a ton of different things, from a shoe rack, to holding yoga equipment, to acting as an end table.The price, in my opinion, is a bit steep for the size (I think it should be ~$15 instead of $30) but it is reasonable compared to other prices on Amazon for the same product.

There are at least 5 other sellers of these on Amazon, but this one was the least expensive when I ordered it. I wanted some low shelving to use to declutter my family room. Today I put the shelving together and it's perfect! I love the bamboo, it is very attractive. It was a piece of cake to put it together. The directions show drawn pictures and parts are numbered, they don't use words. I am a 76 year old woman and have put a few things together in the past, mainly shelving. The plastic storage containers I put on the shelves are all 6 inches tall or less and fit fine, but anythingtaller would not fit. Taller things can go on the top of course. I am very happy with these as shelving, won't but sitting on it or using it for shoes.

I had to laugh when I unboxed this. Lesson learned, pay more attention to the measurements on the description. The pics provided are deceiving. This thing is SMALL. It is a stretch to call this a shoe bench, but yes, can be classified as a shoe rack. $40 for a shoe rack is too much though. As a 6 ft adult male, I can only get 2 pairs of shoes per shelf and a pair of high top shoes or boots will not fit on the lower shelf! I wanted more of a bench for sitting and putting on the shoes, but I might as well sit on the floor like I did before. This will be an expensive shoe organizer for the entryway. I'll keep it as I have already sent back one damaged bench from a different company.Assembly: While easy, you NEED to leave everything semi-loose before tightening. As I got to last shelf, the holes did not line up. I had to loosen what I had already done. Also, 2 of the screw grommets you use for the shelves stripped out upon assembly. It is fine without as I won't be sitting on this as I said before. This bench would be great for kids for its size. Its a decent looking shelf with a durable finish. I'm going to update with a pic for a realistic size comparison.

Attractive bamboo shoe rack. This is a lovely shoe rack and matches well with contemporary decor. The finish is light in color and appears to be urethane.Assembly did take about at least 20 minutes because there are many nuts and bolts to attach. However, it was simple and you do not need the directions. Everything you need is included in the small plastic bag that holds the bolts. The bench is very sturdy. The middle and bottom racks each hold three pairs of size 9 shoes. You can put three more on the top rack for a total of nine. However, I am using the top rack for my printer.Bamboo grows fast and it is considered a renewable resource. This is an eco-friendly product that functions just as well as wood and it is just as attractive. Bamboo will not replace precious wood for many things but it is just fine for a shoe rack. The rack does not look cheap and the craftsmanship is actually good. It is very functional. Where wood has an advantage is in rot resistance. Bamboo will degrade faster than solid wood when it is exposed to the outdoor elements. However, unless you plan on leaving your shoe rack outside under the mercy of rain and moisture, you should not have any issues with rot.Highly recommended.

Overall I am happy with this item. I was spexifically looking for a small & stylish shoe rack to fit by our entrance door so we would not have a clutter of shoes on the floor. For the most part this item mer NY needs. The colour was spot on and the size too... I would have liked to have more flexibility with the height placement of the levels though so I could fit a storage basket on the bottom shelf, but I think they look nice on top as well.I know on the description it states you can sit on the bench however we do not sit on it as I do not think it would be sturdy enough to sustain more than 120lbs. It's ok... as I was not looking for a bench to sit on but a compact & stylish shoe & accessory organizer.

It's exactly what I wanted and an excellent price. Was easy to put together too. Love it- we use it to store shoes used all the time and to sit and put shoes on

Amazing Product! You cant go wrong with this as a budget shoe rack, I'm sneaker-head and was running out of spaces to put my shoes and this was the perfect product, absolutely love it! You can also put that things that aren't even shoes on it and just use it as a regular rack! I already bought another, and recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap efficient shoe rack!Good sturdy product, looks nice, easy to assemble and good value. I've sat on the bench and it seems pretty sturdy. The bench doesn't weigh that much and I weighs around 200 pounds. I believe bamboo is known for its strength, so hopefully this will work as a bench as well as a shoe rack.

Came in a securely packaged box. Super easy setup. It's bamboo, so the weight you think a bench like this should have is a bit different. Super pleased with this thing. Use it every morning to lace up. Make sure know how small/big this is, I have a small front foyer entrance, so it works great. Fits 3 sets of shoes in the middle rack, and 3 sets on the bottom. Love the dark brown look.
