SpeckProducts CandyShell Grip Cell Phone Case for iPhone XS/iPhone X - Charcoal Grey/Dark Poppy Red

This is not Roger but his wife. I have been using speck candy shell cases for years and love them. My comment is really about the color - on the screen the orchid looks deep and rich but in real life it’s not bright but rather subdued - I hesitate to say dull. I think the color is closer to lavender. The blue is very light blue.I love color and my last case was probably hot pink and blue... I thought this one would be closer to that.I’m attaching a picture - it’s not quite right - probably needs a tad more blue as you can see from the box color but it’s closer than the picture they’re using above.Hope it helps if thinking of this color combination.

I’ve purchased over 5 speck cases in my lifetime. The Candyshell grip is one of my favorites. Something weird about this version for the iPhone X, however. At least 2-3 of the rubberized grip strips are peeling off. I take care of my phone and do not have any cracks or scratches, so I don’t see why this is happening to the case in less than 3 months. Too bad. Used to be my favorite case of all timeUPDATED: (7/1/18): those rubber things fall off way to easily. Newer version sucks. Done with this brand forever

I bought a new iPhone X a couple of weeks ago, and because I’m such a nerd about my devices and would never walk out of the store without protection, I purchased a pretty little Apple raspberry number until I could get my hands on just the right Speck CandyShell Grip case. While I appreciate Speck introducing the newer version with a matt finish of this case IMHO the color combos are horrific (sorry Speck I still love you). I like happy jewel tone colors and I’ve got that with this case. This may sound sad I know, but I literally had a sigh of relief the second my new phone went into this case. Seriously the best out there. Also, I’ve always had this case on every iteration of iPhone I’ve had over the years and I’ve never encountered what I hear some commenting on where the rubber grippers comes off in pieces. Also, minimal scratching on the CandyShell portion. It grips great, but still slides into pockets whether they be part of my clothing or in my purse or backpacks.., I highly recommend for any phone...I just can’t say enough good things about this case! :)

This is another perfectly sized Speck product, and it is the 6th one that I’ve purchased. I think the CandyShell Grip is the reason why my iphones have all been like new even after years of use. For the x, I bought my first ever Apple silicone case, and though I loved the way it felt, I did not like that it lacked coverage at the bottom of the phone near the speakers. So, I ordered this Speck case even though it slightly bulls up the phone, for such a decent price, and have been pleased with it. The grips make a HUGE difference to me. It makes the touch screen on the phone easier to use, and you won’t need a pop socket or any of that nonsense.All of the side buttons work perfectly, and every speck case actually has a band of rubber that creates a lip around the glass screen, so you can set the phone face down on a table, but the glass won’t actually touch the surface.

I've used this type of candyshell grip for my iphones in the past and I've only used this for a couple months and the grips are already starting to detach. I've never had this happen with my previous speck phone cases so I'm really disappointed that this is happening so soon too!

I’m not gonna lie, I was skeptical about this case. I’d heard about Speck cases and thought I’d see what they offered. I usually get Otterbox Defender cases for my iPhones but now that Apple makes the “home” button to swipe up, I was finding it difficult to swipe with the bulky Defender case. This has impressed me so far. I heard the rubber grips may come off but for the price I paid, if that happens, I’m not too mad about purchasing another one. With the variety of cases they offer, I’ll just switch up my look. Hopefully I can “mistakenly” drop it and test the military drop test it offers. (But for me my iPhone is usually in my purse or book bag; I utilize my Apple Watch so don’t have to take out my iPhone).

Love speck products! They are simply the best phone cases...they hold up for a long time! Very sturdy and I love that they have grippers to prevent the phone from slipping out of my hand. Side note, the grippers do have one drawback. I wanted to use a pop socket with this case and researched the question/answers on here. Many people said you can use one with this case. That’s not entirely true. If you put it in the middle of the phone there is not enough clearance for it to lay flat, so after a few “pops” it will fall right off in your hand. It was able to stick in the bottom area (picture attached), but I don’t think it’s quite as useful there as it would be in the middle of the phone.

THINGS I LIKE BEST ABOUT THIS PRODUCT ARE:THE GRIPS DO ACTUALLY PREVENT ME FROM DROPPING MY PHONE A LOT!I LOVE THE ROUNDED EDGES BECAUSE IT PROVIDES A LITTLE CUSHION ROOM FOR THE SCREEN SO IT DOESN'T GET SCRATCHED WHEN PLACING THE PHONE FACE DOWN. THIS PRODUCT IS 5X CHEAPER ON AMAZON THAN IT IS IN MY LOCAL RETAIL STORE.I HAVE NO NEGATIVES ABOUT THIS PHONE CASE. IT IS PROBABLY THE MOST DURABLE AND AFFORDABLE IV'E ORDERED FROM AMAZON!

I have had this specific Speck Candyshell style for many years, over several iPhone models and colours. Every time I think about getting a new case, I always come back to Speck since they are comfortable and easy to hold with the grip, have saved my phones from so many drops, and are still relatively cheap. This style specifically looks great, and I'm ready to use this for the next few years. Definitely recommend!

The product feels premium and very nice. It’s tough and super grippy so my phone wouldn’t slip out of my hand easily and even when it does, it wouldn’t affect it in anyway. Also, it’s not bulky in the hand like other protective cases are. I recommend.

The best phone case i have ever owned. The grip on this case is beyond any words.

This is my sixth Speck case - I’ve used them since I started using an iPhone. I tried a more minimalist case but it just doesn’t feel secure enough to handle a drop.The case is very sturdy but it does add weight and bulk to your phone. As some reviewers commented it fits very snug and can be hard to put on (and take off). I consider this a pro because you know your phone is protected, but if you like to swap cases often, this isn’t for you.I took a star for two reasons - I still find this to be overpriced given that it fits the iPhone X (which was released 18 months ago) and also Speck needs to refresh their colour selections. It feels like the same cases and colours have been out for years.I will update this review for longevity issues as needed. I have found with every one of my cases that eventually the rubber edge around the charging port breaks off after a couple of years.

So this is my second Speck case after my first on my iPhone 6 was just so great. It lasted over two years (about 30 months total) and sustained multiple drops. Corners have cracks in case, and the rubber connecting the case near the charger port had come off about two years in (the old candyshell version didn't have any plastic to support it there, just rubber). Honestly though, amazing job done to survive that long. I worked in the Australian outback on all kinds of projects, drill rigs, gas plants, fencing, welding etc. To give you an idea of how much use it got, I have almost worn the rubber grips off the back!As for the next iphone X case, standard great Speck quality. I will say though, there's a newer option out now (this is the older model) and the newer one looks as though it would provide more protection as it has raised rippled along the outside to help spread any impacts. At least have a look at them before purchasing one of these.
