This style of door handle is especially suited to hollow interior doors where face-fixing is difficult, but I like them because they are very quick to change and tend not to bind due to misalignment, as some designs can. This is because the handles are connected to one another and not to the door, which serves to keep them apart. As long as the large hole in the face of the door, and the perpendicular hole in the fore-edge for the latch are made correctly (specials drill bits required), the handles can be swapped just by unscrewing two long screws.I fitted this set to a bathroom door, replacing a very similar set. The original handles are a privacy set, the difference being that the handles can be unlocked in an emergency with a flat bladed tool such as a screwdriver. This set is fitted with a good quality keyed cylinder lock, and is more suited for use where rooms and spaces need to be secured from the outside, but still openable without a key from the inside. This could include bedrooms and storage cupboards and so on. Note that the handles are locked, not the latch. Three keys are provided, and the handles lock with a positive click from either side. This contrasts with the outgoing handles, which were rather sloppy and imprecise in comparison. The overall feel is a bit better.These types of handles always seem to be constructed in the same way, from thin spun stainless-steel shells over light steel mechanisms, and they are consequently lightweight and lacking in solidity, but they work brilliantly. This set are better than average, in my view. The finish is brushed steel, but whether on purpose or not, the outsides of the knobs are more polished than the backs, giving an interesting graduated appearance.These might not be the very cheapest available (they are currently £20.99), but I feel the quality justifies the price.

This door handle set comes in a cardboard box and inside you’ll find 2x door handles, 1x latch, 1x strike, screws, 3x keys, and installation instructions. These door handles are made from stainless steel with a nice, satin nickel finish which looks very modern. They feature a twist lock on one side and a key lock on the other. This allows the door to be locked and unlocked easily from the inside, and also be unlocked with one of the included keys from the outside. Installation is easy as the included instructions are easy to follow and show pictures of each step along with a decent description of what needs to be done next. There is even a template on the instruction sheet that shows you where to drill. You hold it up to the edge of the door and you drill on the mark the paper tells you to, so you drill the hole in the perfect position. I didn’t need to drill any holes in my door as I was replacing an existing handle and everything matched up which made the changeover extremely simple and quick. The handles are easy to grip and turn and isn’t slippery in the hands. The locking mechanism turns easily in both the lock and unlock position. You do get the smell of metal on your hands after installing them but when you just open and close a door, I can’t smell it on my hands which is good. A very nice, lockable door handle which is very reasonably priced…

The media could not be loaded.  The door handle looks well built and good to look at. Having a lock is useful for any room that requires additional security to keep the "pesky kids" out. I work in my bedroom so don't want young kids going in and messing with my laptop setup and my messy but stragetically placed stuff over the desk.The internal lock chamber doesn't look as well made as the door handles. I hope the mechanism stands up to the test of time. At £20.99 it's a tad on the high side. Overall, seems like a good lock.
