NordicTrack Speed Weights

These are great value if you need dumbbells and space. I have a home gym in my basement and these were exactly what we needed! The only "issues" I've run into are the plates when adjusting from 15lbs to 12lbs, sometimes the plates don't stay in their slots. Just make sure to pay attention when you readjust them BEFORE setting the dumbbells back in place. The other issue is the adjustment tabs. WATCH YOUR FINGERS. Sometimes they slip from my grasp and SNAP. It broke the tip of my nail off and bruised me a bit. GO SLOW.Don't let those dissuade you, however. They are truly amazing and will transform your workout!

I bought these for my husband for Christmas and they have been well worth the money! He uses them almost every day and hasn’t had any issues. Because of the number of different weights, I’ve been able to use them, as well. Very versatile, super easy to use and adjust the weights. We’ve been using extensively for over 5 months now and they still seem brand new. No wear and tear.

After figuring out how to use the weight adjustments, I am very pleased so far with the dumbell set. I have had no problems after using it for about 6 weeks. Take the time to read about using the set by googling for manual or other detailed information. The one page sheet that comes with the product is not detailed enough in my opinion.

I bought these because I was looking for modular dumbbells to save space. Mainly as an alternative to the bowflex ones whose design I liked but they had several reviews of falling plates, they were long, and the cost was too high. I haven't experienced any of the issues the other reviewers have had but with that said, if you decide to buy and use these please make sure that the plates are solid when being picked up and that everything locks into place.As for my own experience I have not once had the plates slip out, every time a plate has not come up is because I didn't move the locks into place.The four small weights closest to the base lock by rotating a mechanism on the inside of the base close to the handle, each movement increases weight by 2.5 lbs. The way this locks it is by moving two pieces out from the center on each side of the left and right portions of the main weight handle. It grips the smaller pieces by moving into their center on both of their sides so the weights sort of sit on these little pieces that come out, even if I try to manually remove it by shoving it horizontally it won't budge. The mechanism for the larger weights is the blue tabs you can see above the weights, they're attached to metal slides that are inside of the handle that come out, the slides are able to go through the weights easily because they have hollow centers. The way that the weights themselves grip to each other is with a V shape carved into their sides, so they are easy to slide onto each other but difficult for them to come apart any other way.Whenever I decide to use them I am a bit wary due to other reviewers but I wonder if they just had badly tightened screws on the handles, the pieces weren't in the proper order on the base, the smaller weights being orientated wrong might cause issues, or bad manufacturing on their sets.Some criticisms:I do wish the amount of each weight was conveyed more simply, the way the weight is conveyed is with stickers on the sides of the base the weights rest on and these are more confusing than actually helpful because they have two sets of numbers for each increment. It would have been more helpful to simply have the amount each piece weighed somehow etched onto the piece.The pieces themselves need to sit on the base in a particular order, this order is not labeled on the pieces and took me some messing around with to put them back, when I first received them I had to take it apart to move the dumbbells because they were too heavy otherwise.The box they came in was falling apart, understandable at least due to the weight, I feel bad for the mailman who delivered it while I was away. The foam from the packaging sticks like crazy to the dumbbells, it took a while to get rid of it all.Overall I'm pleased with my purchase, I'm hoping I don't run into any pieces falling off because I would love to continue using these over the years to come.

Husband loves these, uses them several times a week. He has even taken the weights off and put them in a backpack to do some conditioning. Easy to use, durable, comfortable to lift since the handles don't have the textured surface that can bite into your hands. Only problem I had was that I needed to open the box outside and bring them in separately because I couldn't lift the box! And we even used them the other day when I popped a vertebrae at the top of my thoracic spine and couldn't breath. Laid back on a foam roller, he set the weight on my chest, and then I hugged it while rotating from side to side. Snapped right into place and allowed me to inhale. So, so grateful we had these!

The shipping is difficult - its a 100 pound box - so it gets beat up in shipping - the first shipment didn't arrive and amazon replaced the shipment. The weights them self are awesome - really nice with a tray to hold the dumbbells in - and the slider system (to add more weight) works like a charm. A really good product

The weight arrived alot faster than what i expected. I was very worried given i had read some negative reviews! The product seemed like everything I wanted, easy to use, sturdy, versatile! I have used it a few times since it arrived and i have to say I am very happy with this purchase! I have recommended to a few people and I would recommend to anyone reading this review! If you do see negative reviews consider that people usually remember to write reviews when things go wrong and not when they are perfectly happy with the purchase

I RELY on Amazon reviews, and I encourage you, to take this one seriously! I would give this product zero stars if I could. My first set completely broke within one month of using them. The second set that was mailed to "replace" them came with one weight that just completely doesn't work. You can't adjust the amount of weight because something inside is not lining up.Most importantly, this product is DANGEROUS! It should be recalled. If the weight would have broken while doing any over the head lifting exercises, it probably would have killed me.Also, the returning process is next to impossible. I am not physically capable of lifting a 100 pound package on my own. I can lift each 50 pound weight individually but not when they are in a box together! How am I supposed to get this to UPS? And also, I cant believe they would send an inoperable "replacement."Don't waste your time or money. Go for something more expensive that has some actual quality.

Weights are easy to replace and the dumb isn't very wide so its easy to curl. Other one i saw were too wide and didnt look like you could do anything with them other than a dumble press. But these are very easy to curl with and do any range of motion you would do with a regular dumbbell. Best part these dont takeup too much space. Very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend these over the Bowflex.

Could have been packaged better, the box took a heavy beating and was severely ripped...
