I have been using it for a week and totally satisfy. This is my first Acer laptop
I purchased this laptop for my usual, home personal use to replace my 7 year old 15.6 inch Toshiba Satellite. I have been using it for a week and totally satisfy. This is my first Acer laptop, so I was very skeptical about ordering this one. However, after intense research and reading a lot of user reviews, I made up my mind on this one, and so far very happy with it.Very good laptop in this price range and configurations. I like SSD hard drive a lot. It is very fast even though there is only 8 GB of RAM. I checked it by opening multiple applications and they all opened up quickly.Pros:-Sturdy, stylish metal body, Gorilla glass screen is a plus.-Its thin body and light weight at 3.34 lbs.-7th generation i5-7200 2.5GHz, SSD 256GB and 8GB of RAM are perfect for a usual home laptop/desktop computer.-Big mouse pad, and backlit keyboard are plus.-I have not fully checked the battery hours, but it seems will hold charge as long as specify up to 10 hrs.Cons:-Finger reader does not work very well. It was not able to read my finger print after several attempts. However it is not a major issue for me since I do not use it.-I think this keyboard issue probably is mostly same on all ultra-thin laptop since the depth of the laptop is much less than on regular laptop or desktop keyboard. Therefore buttons are more sensitive on ultra-thin laptop than on a regular ones. This is also a minor issue and take time get used to it.Overall I still give this Acer Swift laptop 5 stars.

Good laptop for its price - picked this over ultralight portable 13 inch notebooks which were more $$ and similar or worse specs
I've had this laptop for about a month now.I find this laptop to be pretty quick. Has 7th gen core i5, 256gb ssd. It's pretty light compared to the old toshiba I used which was 4.8 lbs, the Acer being 3.3. I initially wanted an ultralight weight notebook, 13-14 inches, <3 lbs but after watching youtube reviews of the class and looking at pricing, this seemed like a really good alternative, though I did have to go up to 14 inches instead of 13, it was worth the sacrifice for me. The laptop is light, thin, easy to carry. The keys are easy to type for me, I almost like the sound they make when I type.As far as the concerns people have, I can see where they are coming from. The screen looks a bit dimmer than others even when plugged in. Obviously you can change settings when unplugged. It is a matte display, not glossy. Some complain about the fan noise and having used this for a while, I think it usually happens when it's plugged in or doing some heavy intensive apps. Though I haven't had the chance to max the CPU, it's been very very very quiet for the most part. I only noticed the fan noise in the very beginning when I was booting up computer out of box and setting up the laptop. Since then, it's been pretty quiet. One thing that can definitely be improved on is the trackpad. It doesn't feel as responsive to use.I concur with others on the nice metal finish, solid feel, and speed. I previously owned an Asus (which broke apart, poor plastic build), an Acer Aspire Timeline X (pretty solid construction), and Toshiba (plastic, recently screen hinge broke, though I did drop that). It seems Acer laptops in my experience feel solid and not flimsy. This model is also really competitive on pricing, which is why I gave it 5 stars for now. I definitely see this as an alternative to overpriced Macbooks. I'

Amazingly fast boot up, runs smoothly, looks great.
Used it for 2 months now. Great piece of technology. Amazingly fast boot up, runs smoothly, looks great. Nice sturdy keyboard. Depending on usage battery lasts from 7 to 10 hours. Speakers are adequate for an ultraportable. 14" screen gives it a slight edge over the 13.3" ones. I take it to college for 5-6 hours a day with no issues. The vent is at the hinge so you can easily use it on your lap or in bed without it overheating. 180 degree screen comes in more handy than one would think.Issues raised by others:The power button on the right top corner can be set to do what you wish so its not always a problem if you press it by mistake. The screen brightness is satisfactory. I have never needed to use it at full brightness yet. But I have never used it outdoors. The colors are not as vibrant as a macbook of-course but they are good enough to watch movies.I had no issues with fan noise.

OK, fan makes noise that bothers me, but it is working. Just got it and will update review in a few weeks-months.
So just got this and uninstalled a few software I don't need. I am currently installing software I want/need. I will be using this mainly for my online course right now. What I can say right off the start is the fan does make noise and it gets annoying to me. I did notice that it depends on the angle of the laptop how much more the noise is. The power button being part of the keyboard is fine with me I have no problems with that yet. The screen looks nice and it seems to run pretty well. Will update this review in a few weeks once I start really using it.So, an update. The fan is still bothering me, but the system runs pretty fast and does everything I need it too. It is a good deal for the price, and I guess you just got to hope that the one you get the fan isn't noisy. It is funny the fan, sometimes it is low and others it is so loud I shutdown and wait it out. ??? what type of fan they used and why it does this, but over all pretty happy with this laptop. It is very light and easy to take with me when I need to show a client something.
