Great for dwarf hamsters, too small for full sized hamsters
I've had my Dzungarian dwarf hamster for almost 6 months now and up until a few weeks ago, I had her in a Kaytee Crittertrail 360 habitat, one of the single level round cages, and I attached tubes and lookouts, and replaced her water bottle to one that attaches to the outside of her cage rather than one hanging inside of it, to give her as much space as possible. She always seemed pretty happy but I could tell she got bored sometimes from lack of space and toys (not enough room to give her toys). I decided to make her a diy bin cage, spent endless hours working on it, and took pieces from her old cage to build it. She HATED it. I added her extension tubes from her old cage, and she spent all her time in those. She wasn't happy and I could tell. Even though its great to give hamsters space to run around, this was far too much space for her. So, I got her this cage as a replacement. Smaller than the bin cage but bigger than her first cage. It took me maybe 20-30 minutes to set it up (I helped my friend set up the same one in the past so I already knew what I was doing). It was a little difficult but not too bad. I replaced the water bottle it came with with a clear water bottle because of other reviews and I added her old tubes to the cage, which aren't super sturdy, but I've been able to make it work. My hamster LOVES it. She is so incredibly happy. She spends barely any time in her extension tubes because she loves the cage so much. She loves burrowing at the bottom and she loves burrowing the petting zone. My friend has a full sized hamster in the same cage, and she is obviously very bored and not stimulated enough. This is NOT enough room for a full sized hamster, but is great for dwarf hamsters

Awesome
my hamster has this other cage in there was not a lot to do in it and she was very bored so I decided to look for another cage. It took me a couple weeks, but then I found this one. It was very hard to build, but I’m very glad I got it because it was on sale and it was in great condition for any hamster looking for a cage for their stressed out or active hamster as you can see the photos she’s very happy!

For Mice, Decent for the Price
Great for mice. Probably too small for a hamster to be comfortable. I did not use their water bottle and as others have stated their animals died due to no water, I have a few suggestions. 1. Either use another water bottle or use another one PLUS this one, and 2. CHECK YOUR WATER BOTTLES DAILY. This is true for every kind of water bottle there is. Test with your fingertip every day and make sure you can get water out. Note: the hole meant for the water bottle spout is the biggest hole in the cage. A mature adult mouse will not be able to escape through it but a baby mouse will (and a wild mouse will get in). When it comes to mice, the rule of thumb is if the head can fit, the body will follow. It was a little awkward to put together and i should have listened to my inner critic when I read "Put in the substrate" after you assemble the base of the cage. Of COURSE DON'T do it or in later phases as you wrestle with the pieces, you will dump the substrate all over your shag rug. What is special: The petting zone. If they like to come out and you teach them that is where to go, or if they like sleeping there even though you disturb them, you have a great compartment which you can either open on the cage and pet them or take them out; or lift off of the top of the cage entirely and bring to where you want them. Do NOT leave some mice behind! And last but not least! Cool Habitat for Dwarf Hamsters
I added this environment to our existing hamster cages and it has been quite the addition. The cage features two platforms, a top-level hideout, a lot of tubing, and a wheel for running, and a water dispenser. After adding it, it quickly became our (2) dwarf hamsters favorite environment for play. They especially enjoy climbing the platforms and jumping into their bedding - it is quite a sight to see. The hight of the cages gives it a real presence, so if you are looking for something smaller (like a standard cage), this might now be for you. However, it worked perfect for our space. The cage itself is well designed and sturdy. If you are in the market for a new cage, I’d highly recommend this one!

Wonderful Cage for our snowball.
I accidentally smashed our hamsters cage when I was playing VR. I couldn't safely fix it for the little guy so I purchased this one. My daughter built it for him and he was a much happier guy inside of this little loft apartment. She smeared a little vegetable oil on the wheel axle, and it was dead silent and he loved to run on it and he had a great time in this cage. There's nothing like seeing your beloved hamster happy. :-)

Not the best when it comes to cleaning.
We bought this set, along with a few other accessories available for this cage/habitat for our Robo hamster. Unfortunately she died only a week after. The cage was perfect for our Robo. The hamster wheel that came with it offered the necessary space for the hamster’s back. The tubes were spacious enough for her to turn back around. However, once we properly disinfected the cage and put our Syrian Hamster in it, she got stuck in the tubes several times, specially in the corners and Y connectors. The wheel was too small that her back was constantly bent. My recommendation to anyone looking to get this cage for their Syrian hamsters would be to opt for a DYI cage instead. It’s not only cheaper but it will also offer the space necessary for your Syrian hamster to be happy. In addition to the space restrictions, we also found that the tubes/tunnels are extremely hard to clean. The tubes have small holes meant for ventilation, but those located in the bottom part of the tube causes the urine to leak to the rest of the structures. Also, the inside of the tubes have “steps” that help hamsters walk through them but these also make it really hard to clean as poop, urine, and food easily gets lodged in these areas. And the tubes that are longer need to be cleaned with a long bottle cleaner. Finally, assembly was a nightmare. It seems like a good idea to add tunnels and different accessories, but in our experience this make the whole structure top heavy and unstable. Overal, I would not recommend to anyone who means to house a Syrian hamster in this cage due to the space restrictions and size of the tunnels making cleaning a hard task.

Water bottle holder is in the back, not the front or side.
I wish the spot that holds the water bottle was on the front instead of the back. We have to keep the cage away from the wall, and it makes it much harder for my son to keep track of Rhino's water needs, as does the dark color of the bottle.

A cheap plastic coffin for your small animal.
What a wonderful thing I thought I was doing getting my 2 Chinese hamsters this "luxurious, tubular home" that I obviously expanded on, as you can see in the picture. I bought additional cages thinking this would make them happier. NO. Now, I take full responsibility for not properly researching the animal first. However, I have done many hours of research since, and my 2 little babies have been separated and put into proper enclosures with a ton of enrichment after living for a month in this terrible jail for small animals. Hamster, gerbils and mice are all burrowing animals. The small pan on the bottoms of these cages are simply too shallow to allow for a proper burrow system, which your hamster NEEDS. Not to mention the wheel sizes are too small and cause back problems and pain for your hamsters, and the wire bars are very unsafe. Hamsters have very poor eyesight and DO NOT like climbing. They will if forced into this type of enclosure- climbing is a sign of stress behavior. It DOES NOT mean your hamster is happy if it is climbing, chewing plastic, or constantly scratching the bottoms of their enclosures. They can fall from these bars, get head injuries that result in neurological damage as well as broken bones. If you want a truly happy hamster, please (I beg) do not buy this, or any type of enclosure that looks remotely similar. If you got this far, I will tell you even more about this horrible, non eco friendly cage. It is poorly, poorly ventilated in the areas they are forced to nest in. The humidity and smell from the ammonia build up meant frequently changing and cleaning which is very stressful for a hamster. This is so very hard (if not impossible) to clean since you basically have to take it all apart and reassemble it to get it clean, and even then, I have learned that these plastics will absorb urine/ammonia, so there is really no ever getting it clean. Taking all of the pieces apart and reassembling them weekly will certainly be a chore. I would also like to mention that the more you take it apart and reassemble it, the enclosure becomes even less structurally sound than it was when new. If you want a safe enclosure, are on a budget, and have a little DIY skill, a proper sized bin cage would be superior and will cost you less than half of what this enclosure costs, be more enriching for your hamster, as well as being much easier to clean! There are plenty of resources online, including YouTube videos as well as communities on many platforms for small animals. Please, PLEASE research your pet before purchasing. Please rescue or adopt from an ethical breeder before buying from a pet store. And do not house your hamsters together OR with any other species of animal for ANY reason!

Me siento satisfecha

I love it!
The cage was easy enough to assemble, but you can't fit any other wheel in it. I don't recommend putting a Syrian or a teddy bear hamster in here. I have a golden and he's as big as this cage can fit. The wheel is a little small for him, which is why I don't recommend putting a bigger breed in here. But in other words, the cage is great, it came quickly, and my little buddy loves his new home. There is quite a bit of space, and I do regret not getting more toys for him.

Perfect for my house mouse
Bars are closely spaced to keep a small mouse from escaping. He loves going up and down the tunnels and climbing the walls too. I think that it would be too small for a hamster unless it was a dwarf one.
