Intel Xeon Processor E3-1231V3B 3.4 4 LGA 1150 (BX80646E31231V3)

I've done my fair share of builds, and I always try to find a good bang for the buck. I almost exclusively did AMD builds up and to a MAME machine I did which I needed less threads and higher IPC, so I did a dual core Intel Pentium G3220. I was amazed by that CPU, so I gave up on AMD (at least until they can release something semi-competitive to the IPC of the Sandy Bridge + core architecture). I also had a hard time not having 8 threads, since this is replacing a sandy bridge laptop with an i7. I got used to having 8 CPU graphs :-), so no i5 for me.This product is the BOX, not just a tray CPU, so you do get the stock cooler and Xeon sticker (FTW!).This CPU, as noted is basically an i7-4770 with a slightly lower turbo (3.8 rather than 3.9 GHz). Sure, I could have gone with a 4GHz i7, but the lower TDP, combined with a much lower price (about $60 less than the 4770) make this a great CPU for the price. Don't get this CPU if you want to use 'on-board' graphics, as for Intel boards it uses the iGPU, which this CPU does not include. But for the gamer who doesn't care about overclocking this is a great value.I'm using the stock cooler, which during winter months with lower ambient temps may be fine. Under load the CPU has hit 75C. Time will tell when ambient temps go up whether or not I will swap the heatsink out to something more potent, but for now it will be fine. This CPU is fast, and super capable. I'm using a GTX 970 with it and it certainly keeps the GPU fed.

This Xenon Processor is like getting a high performance Intel i-7 for a lot lower price, except there is no on-board video. It is not unlocked, but with the right motherboard, you can push it higher if you wish. It's higher performance than an Intel i5 and for a lower price. I already had a spare $400 video card, so it was a really good match for me. Here are the main components I used. Corsair Hydro Series High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler H60 And I used a Corsair 650 Watt Power Supply - probably overkill. CORSAIR TX Series TX650M 650W 80 PLUS Gold Modular Power Supply Otherwise, I pulled an existing motherboard and parts out of an existing computer case and used a couple of Conventional SSD drives and an expensive Blu-ray player that was still inside the case.I spent a little more than I planned on the motherboard, but it was worth it. It is a very high performance system.

This CPU is a beast, nothing I throw at it really slows it down and best of all it stays really cool. It's actually somewhat surprising how cool this thing is. Completely impressed and satisfied with this CPU especially considering the price for what you get.Just be careful – it could require BIOS update for old MB chips and revisions (or you won't be able to start your PC). Check MB specs for supported CPU and what BIOS version it requires. A student suggested a Xeon processor as an upgrade from i5, and after some research I realized he was absolutely right. It's the processor I should have bought to begin with, but somehow it never occurred to me to use a Xeon in a research workstation. Sometimes you just overlook the obvious.Performance improvements were immediately obvious - the i5 had done well, but the Xeon felt much soother, a subjective impression I've learned to associate with high performance workstations. This has been a very cost effective upgrade.

Honestly such an amazing purchase for someone who wants a decent gaming/streaming CPU like an I7 but doesn't want to dish out a couple extra $. Of course you miss out on the integrated graphics, but really you shouldn't need that in a gaming PC. There are very small chances to use it as you should have a dedicated graphics card on any gaming pc.At first I was a bit hesitant to buy but after doing research I realized this was in my price range and also did most of what I wanted it to do, which was be able to stream and record on decent settings without slowing down my gaming or compromising anything else. And since it fit in a 1150 slot I was easily able to find a decent motherboard that fit and had other specs that I needed and put all the extra savings into the graphics card.I would recommend this to anyone who wants to stream/record their games but doesn't have a couple extra bucks to spring for an I7. It definitely gets the job done but make sure you read up on the pros and the cons.Cons are mostly just1. No Igpu2. Not much overclocking/if any3. A little less powerful in terms of HZ.

Cheaper than i7 4790, with almost identical performance. The stock fan is good enough for most scenarios, unless you are super sensitive to noise (in my case, it is definitely quieter than the GTX 970 video card)

I recently ordered this in the mail for my son so he could build a computer, but it turned out to be dead on arrival. This really angers me because we were hoping that there would be no hick ups with this but sure enough. Wish that this didn't happen.

primagy tx1310m1のCPUをceleron G1820から交換しました。primagyのCPUクーラーのままで冷えています。動作も問題なし。交換後一発で起動しました。

・オーバークロックはしないのでＫ付きではなくて良い・4コア8スレッドのもの・グラフィック機能はいらない（あってもよい）といいう条件で探していたところ，こちらの商品を発見。「Xeon」というブランドにも惹かれたので購入しました。仕様では「ファン：別売り」となっていますが，一般向け製品と同様にリテールクーラーが付属していました。マザーボードには ASUSTeK製の H97I-PLUS を使用しています。一応ベンチをしてみた結果を載せておきますと，CINEBENCH R15（CPU）：7.82Ptsを記録しましたので，ソフトによると「AMD Opteron 2435（12コア，2.6GHz）」と同等の性能のようです。私と同様に定格運用で高性能なCPUを使用したい方は購入してみてはどうでしょうか。ではではノシ

グラフィックがつかないことくらいしか欠点はありません。グラボ交換のときなど　のもしものために、換装前のぺんてぃあむを手元においています。動作はいい感じで安いクーラーでも熱暴走はありません。かってよかった　この性能で中古で10K弱は安かったです。人にも薦めようかな。
