great replacement
After 45 years the old ones needed replacing. They work great. No more drips.

Easy drop in replacement for original valve.
Finding the correct replacement valve was a challenge due to the lack of markings on the OEM valve. Finding the correct hot and cold ceramic 1/4 turn shower valves has eliminated leakage and makes for easy operation. The hardest part of changing the shower valves was shutting off the water main into the house. Once the water was shut down replacing the valves took no more than twenty minutes. Very satisfied to date. I am expecting long term leak prevention and ease of use.

Fantastic improvement
These are fantastic for several reasons. 1st I was able to find a replacement part for an approximately 40 year old fixture from the manufacturer! and 2nd the cartridge has the same fit and operation of the old valve but the internals have been upgraded to the modern ceramic disk mechanism that should last a very long time. Bravo to Kohler to actually IMPROVE a replacement part for a discontinued faucet. I am VERY happy. PLUS it solved an elusive plumbing problem I was having at my home.

Updated part, works well, original Kohler cartridge includes o-rings
These are an updated design, and feature ceramic parts, which should extend the life and performance of the valve.The original parts are 540 degree turn, while these go from On to Off in 90 degrees. Nonetheless, they work perfectly, and allow precise enough control of the water flow.Make sure you have food grade silicone grease (Danco is available on Amazon, and works well). I don't know why none of the cartridge webpages emphasize this. The grease is needed to lubricate the stem, and to seal the threads, and the areas where they have O-Rings.These cartridges include the o-rings you will need to replace as well, whereas the Danco ones don't. You need to change all the o-rings to get the best function now, and ongoing. Finding the o-rings yourself is a daunting task, so their inclusion is perfect.

These are Kohler original parts. Excellent quality and 1/3 less than the manufacturer direct. It was very simple to replace the original valves that were completely frozen.
