Are battery powered speakers

No they are not battery powered and they only work with Bluetooth and even with Bluetooth they’re not that good I connected the analog input to a stereo receiver and all I got out of the speakers was a bad hum actually I do not recommend them at all I tried to return them Angott nothing but a run around find something better

trying to hook up to tv but they have sound but also humming what am I doing wrong? also can not figure out remote

Normal for cheap speakers like these. They’re meant for large gatherings/outdoor scenarios, not home theater. There will always be some level of hissing/humming.

I want a louder sound, would I need to purchase an amp or try a high wattage?

Honestly these speakers are already powered, if you want louder i suggest a larger speaker
