MantaRing - Cable Key Ring with Screw Lock - Strong, Flexible, Waterproof. One Ring for Keys and So Much More (Blue)

I have had mine for a few months and use it exclusively for my key-ring. I have found that the nut that tightens to keep it closed is somewhat loose. I find myself tightening it often to make sure my keys don't all fall off. This was pretty loose even when I received it, so it isn't like it got worse over time. It isn't so bad that I really worry about it, but I find that I do notice it becoming loose so I tighten it.My other complaint is the blue "paint" over the cable is starting to split in a few areas. Not a big deal in my book. Overall purchase wasn't a bad one, but next time I would probably opt for one with a tighter nut to ensure my keys never go flying off the ring.**Oct 2012 Update** - Its been exactly 13 months to the day since I bought this and am still using it everyday. 50% of the blue has worn off and a few areas almost look "bent", but overall the functionality is identical to the first time I used it. Clasp works great. I upped it one-star for remaining to function!**Jan 2013 Update** - The cable has completely torn at one of the connector ends, spilling my keys all over. From my usage, this lasted about a year and a few months. Not horrible for what I paid, but a little less than I guess I'd expect.**March 2013** - The seller, MantaRing, contacted me and offered to replace my item. I would assume it was more from my review here than warranty reasons, but it is still refreshing that the seller replaced my item after mine failed.

Update from week of 5.11.2015-Wonderful customer service. I let the seller know I hadn't recieved my order. They were extremely receptive and went above and beyond to make sure this was fulfilled. The cable rings are great. I've had others before...turns out they were a different brand. These are actually lighter weight and far more flexible. I have an annoying BMW key fob with a key ring option on the left and the right, but not in the middle. This results in a lack of balance when I use the fob as it is also my car key. My Manta ring is flexible and strong enough to "bridge the gap", so the fob and all keys attached to my cable are balanced. Would definitely recommend both seller and product.I'm sure this is a decent product. Happy to change my rating, but it appears the seller provided an untrackable number through USPS, and I will be ordering a different key ring.

Perfect replacement for a similar ring I found about 9 years ago. That one didn't have the plastic coating and the cable began to fray and stab me with it's super fine strands. That won't happen with this. This also looks pretty sturdy.. if anything more so than my previous one.The only caveat is you WILL need threadlock to keep the screw barrel from undoing itself. It would not stay secure without it and you don't want to be losing your keys. God help you if it decides to break free while you're passing over a storm drain. You might be able to get away with some low strength glue or some sort of 'sticky goop'... maple syrup? hmmm.. Ahem.. a stop at a hardware or auto store can land you some loc-tite, which will be useful in the future if you find yourself with a screw or two loose ;)

These incredibly strong little rings have been an incredible blessing. I use them to replace my key ring in my lanyard. This allows me to fit much more keys on my college lanyard, and because of the extra surface area, the keys lay MUCH flatter in my jean pocket, preventing my keys from jabbing my leg! They also make great tools to attach all the miscilanious things to that get lost in the bottom of your backpack: jump drives, seldom used keys, fingernail clippers, miniature hand sanitizer, and any other item with a loop in it! Will be buying more! Also, the seller is EXTREMLY reasonable, and willing to solve any problems that might arise in a timely, and over the top kind of way. These people are the kind of people who make the world go round. Very impressed.

I do love this key ring. I saw an employee with one they bought at a local shop and had to have one. After finding the shop I was told they were on back order and they had no idea when they would get another batch. I had the idea for these after my mom gifted me with a Amazon gift card. I bought three of these and gave one to a friend and one to my mom. My mom had a little issue of hers coming undone but not since then. I have had no issue with mine but I do tend to play with the clasp a lot and I end up tightening it a lot without even thinking about it. I was so tired of traditional spiral key rings and needed something different. If you want to try something new you should try it.

*****I really like this MantaRing and have had no problems with it whatsoever--it has never opened accidentally and seems very sturdy. It also was easy to use. I am currently using it to hold my stopwatch to a carabiner that clips to my pants instead of wearing my stopwatch around my neck--as such it works great! I would think it would be useful in any application in which you'd want a secure tie, especially threaded through a small hole (like the curved narrow hole on my stopwatch). I also think it's great that it's waterproof.It may seem a tad expensive for what it is, but getting it here saves me the trip to the hardware store as well as the cost of the gas, so it is worth it to me.Recommended.*****

I definitely find this easier to use than a traditional key ring & I love that it's so easy to detach and attach keys, but I have had issues with it loosening on its own, particularly when I attach it to something, like the belt loop on my pants or my dog's leash. I've never had it loosen in my pocket or purse, but my keys have fallen onto the ground several times when I was walking with it attached to my pants & I feel like it should be designed so it doesn't unscrew quite that easily.
