I put this on my hardwood floor before placing my 5x8 throw rug and it holds it tightly in place. Every now and then, I take it outside and hose it down because dust will get caught in the waffle texture. Does a great job of keeping rug secure.

My rug has not shifted in the slightest after buying this product. I have bought the expensive ones for all of my other rugs and now I’m beginning to wonder why I didn’t just buy these to begin with. Don’t get me wrong the other ones have a thicker pad underneath, but my rugs slide on the expensive ones that I bought before and this my rug has not bugged. If you’re looking for something low cost that actually works this is the product.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:We bought some new rugs for the kitchen area and they arrived after having been rolled up together, so they would not lay flat on the floor as a result, and were too easy to move around. After tripping a couple of times I ordered this padded backing.The rubber material is fairly light and soft but it grips the floor really well. I added a spray on adhesive to the back of the rugs and added the padding to them. I then cut the padding around the edges so that it wasn't visible. The extra weight helps to hold the edges down and the padding keeps them in place. There is a lot of padding left over and I did the same treatment to a few others that we had. it has been a good fix. It took a little time to get it all done but it was inexpensive and still working. I have not noticed any sticking or residue on the hard wood floors either.

On Amazon, in the description, it says that this is a 2'X3' rug pad. When it arrived, it was much, much larger, causing the buyer to trim it quite a bit. This 82 year old man can't possibly do that. They are basically useless to me.They also came in wrapping that was very hard to manage. Opening, this ill shaped pad was quite difficult. If I were you, I'd look elsewhere.

My sister used this as backing for a rug she crocheted. It works perfectly!

Perfect! I ordered the longer one and cut it in half for 2 rugs. The price at the time for the larger one was better deal. Completely satisfied.
