This is a liquid miracle. It feels like it contains a light moisturizer with essence and serum. It does have a slight scent but nothing overwhelming. I used two pours on damp, clean skin and gently tapped it into my skin. My skin feels amazing and super hydrating which is wonderful for my super dry skin.Skin Type? This Clarins Multi-Active Treatment Essence was confusing to me at first but it’s basically a hydrating toner. It’s a slightly viscous, watery liquid. I was mostly patting it into my skin after cleansing, though at times I put some on a cotton round to wipe residual makeup or grime off my face after cleansing (which I still do at times). This product absorbs quickly and doesn’t make my skin feel sticky. I feel it did add some hydration and also gave my skin a clear and bright appearance.I have dry, sensitive, mature (55+) skin and normally use a ferment-based essence that hydrates and soothes my skin much more than this Clarins product. I had replaced it with the Clarins essence. I never got painful irritation, but my face started looking red after a few days of patting in the Clarins essence and it just didn’t feel as calm hydrated and comfortable as usual. It kind of felt exfoliating to me, and I wasn’t sure if I was using it correctly in that it seemed like patting it into my skin daily was too often.Anyway, I ended up making a routine CS inquiry (made no mention of Vine) and was informed this is a hydrating toner for daily use by people in their 30’s. So it’s not the right formula for my mature skin and I stopped patting it into my skin. I do still use it but just to wipe my face about 2x a week before my other essence. While I don’t like that it has potentially irritating chemical fragrance, it otherwise seems like a pretty good product for the targeted age group as it did provide some hydration and is better than using toner containing alcohol. 4 stars. I LOVE Clarins products, and this essence is added right into my favorite skincare routine. This is perfect for pre-moisturizing clean skin. It's lightweight, unscented (though I recently had covid so I'm not smelling much nowadays, but my boyfriend said he couldn't smell it either), and makes my skin feel plump, refreshed and moisturizing, which isn't necessarily expected with an essence. I apply it with my fingers so that cotton rolls don't absorb it. You don't need much either. A little goes a long way. I know some might not be able to justify the cost, but treat yourself! And because you're using a little at a time, it's bound to last long enough to be worth the investment.

This toner works well. The fragrance isn't bad and it does seem to moisturize my skin which is nice for a toner. However, it doesn't particularly do much else for my skin. I do like the results, but I wish they were more noticeable.
