Excellent rod for the money
This rod can handle 50lb blue fin tuna easily as it was proven in my 2 charter boats out of San Diego. Furthermore, I could undercast my live baits far away from boats. Thus it gave me better chances to land tuna or yellowtail. I wish I should buy more of this rods rather the other expansive rods like from Shimano or Daiwa

Super light, accurate and strong
As a 30 year Guide, I've used only ugly stik rods. I have dozens in various sizes and models. Never once have I used any other rod. The reason is simple... They don't break!Yes, I've seen reviews about tiger rods breaking. You should know what type of rod you're selecting if you purchase this jigging rod. It's soft tip and heavy back bone (100 lb class rod) make it good mainly for vertical jigging. Meaning, It is designed to fight fish "vertically" for the most part. These rods are very fast tipped to pass along superior action to your butterfly, knife or speed jig at any depth. Why people break these tiger stiks - jigging rods are precision instruments.. Specially designed for jigging. If you raise this rod above 90 degrees with a big fish on, the rod will handle it.. What it won't handle is "high sticking" in that way under heavy loads, then allowing it to tweak left or right while over the top of your head or even behind your head. It's simply not made for that. This rod is designed to be fished "in front of you" and not snatched back over your shoulders and back bent. It'll break most graphite rods if the angler high sticks beyond the normal 90 degree angle as this will twist the tip when under a load. This flaw in fishing technique is also known as over the top or reverse bending of the rod. You won't get away with it too many times before it breaks. So, technical stuff out of the way, this is one of the best rods for the money you'll ever jig with. I've still yet to break an ugly stik after 30 years! And that's a fact.. Another easy 5 stars from me.
