OnePlus 5 Case, Diztronic Full Matte Slim-Fit Flexible TPU Case for OnePlus 5 - Black

I've always liked and recommended Diztronic cases. They're very minimalistic, stylish, and typically very comfortable while providing a realistic amount of protection from most average drops.That's essentially still what they've done here with their first (and only?) OnePlus 5 case.And as a whole, this case gets a lot right. The slider switch cutout is perfect; the button clickiness is spot-on (as it always is with Diztronic); the case fits perfectly and doesn't bend away from the phone as easily as most TPU cases would.I don't love the sharp edges along the bottom. For example, when resting your pinky to support the phone from the bottom, the cutouts dig into your skin and it becomes painful to hold. Also, it would've been nice if Diztronic had included a "sandstone" texture option (or a more rubberized option), as well as a few different colors.With that said, the black matte finish looks very professional but it isn't very grippy. Don't get me wrong: the phone is much less slippery with the case than without it; but my "Pelosi" sandstone texture case (which is awful for protection) is made from a similar plastic and has a better texturing to it.My only major complaints are:•It's not "soft-touch"; I would say that's false advertising as that term applies to a specific sort of rubberized paint•The camera only has about 0.1mm of protectionDiztronic always tries to keep their cases fairly slim (while still offering a decent amount of protection), and because of the protruding camera bump, the camera glass is nearly flush with the back of the case.In that respect, I would've rather have had a thicker case (or a protruding ring to protect the camera from impacts).I have a Tudia Extreme on our other OP5; were it not for the stiff buttons and bad slider cut-out, I would say that's the best case to get in terms of protection and minimized bulk, for just $2 more. If you're looking for Otterbox levels of protection, I'd look at that Tudia composite case.Diztronic continues to make cases that you wouldn't be embarrassed to show off in a professional environment. I would love their cases even more if they only included their branding on the inside, but at least there's no tramp stamp.If they smoothed out the port cutouts on the bottom (especially the sharp edge over the USB-C slot), I would be much happier and would give this case five stars.Overall, it's quite nice and I'd recommend it to anyone interested in minimalist style, basic protection, and (modified-grip) one-handed usage.

I purchased an orzly case with a clip on the back like a pop socket for easier handling but wasn't a fan of the material used for the rest of the case -it was a smooth, slippery smooth, matte finish that I could barely handle. But, because of the clip, it was nice to not have to use my pinky shelf so I made do. I purchased this case with the hopes of having a nice slim case, like the orzly, but without the clip and hopefully with more grip. This case does what it is intended to do in protecting the phone, which is excellent because it will slip from your hands with ease. It looks good, it would be a great case, but it's like holding onto a wet bar of soap.

I've tried different cases for oneplus 5, Nillkin Synthetic Fiber Premium Bumper Slim Case and SLEO OnePlus 5 Case as well. This one was the best one considering the protection of edges, feel in hand, and not messing with tempered glass screen protector.

Great case. Has great texture, keeps the tactility of the buttons intact unlike other cases I've tried, looks very sleek.Great case all round.
